I'm curious to why China was able to industrialize/re-industrialize so quickly relative to India.

Even by the 80's China was in a good position. I remember reading a book about the Beijing-Jeep JV, when the American executives went to see the BAIC plant that was to be used for the JV, the shape of the plant was considered not bad. Obviously the tooling was obsolete, and quality standards were out of date, but the plant was laid out properly and the workers were well trained.

Was India's economy always based more on agriculture?
I think the difference is those who fought against colonization and those that didn’t. All the countries that think they would be better than China in whatever are also countries that lost to being colonized by the West. They’ve had generations of being brainwashed by their colonizers to believe in what their masters only wanted them to believe. Look at how Indians think because they speak their masters’ language, they would be better than China. That’s what the British taught them. Indians think it’s all that matters when it comes to hi-tech. But where’s India’s DeepSeek or TikTok that have shooken the Western world? China didn’t need Indians or English to accomplish it.

The British had to tell their colonies the benefits of being their colonies in order to stave off revolt. In China look at how the British tried to divide the Chinese by proclaiming those that chose to be “English” and do everything like they did were superior to Chinese that didn’t. And look at the British in fear of being eclipsed by China today with none of their brainwashed puppets in positions of power. Look at how every one of the West’s colonies in Asia are eclipsed by China’s shadow and are nothing without their masters.

Western colonialism takes away the spirit of independence. That is something that the West doesn’t regret to this day because they are nothing without followers that believe they are a god despite how they’re no match for China because that's more important to them.

I don’t think it’s the main reason. I think there is also a historical, geopolitical and mostly cultural aspect to it. East Asian countries are also more homogeneous which helps for social stability and cohesion which is something their governments often prioritize as well. Plus these countries adopted a heavy state led development model oriented towards heavy investment in infrastructure and massive exports to the West while adopting policies to attract investments from Western countries and their neighbors, which served them well during their rapid growth stage. So it also has a lot to do with adopting the right policies with strong central government .
so it’s not just an issue of the Chinese government being exceptional or unique. Since all East Asian countries are very industrialized and developed not just China (in fact China has been late to the party actually due to some of its past erroneous policies during Maoist era). So China just played catch up to her East Asian neighbors after opening up to the world, and it was much easier for Chinese leaders to learn from their East Asian peers in Japan, S.Korea, Taiwan, Singapore, Hong Kong who had already gone through that journey.
Remember China used to send to thousands of CCP officials to learn in Singapore for example . I think they still do it or they stopped recently. So yeah there are reasons for that. China is only talked about more due to its size and population relative to her East Asian peers. So of course anything in China will have much impact regionally and globally

Finally, almost every country Chinese people have migrated to in large numbers they succeeded very well and thrived. Singapore itself is a good example, even Chinese diaspora in Malaysia which helped Malaysia economically as well. So yeah I believe with a fairly competent(doesn’t have to be an exceptional government) with an open mindset in China will still have led to China’s development/rise and industrialization, even if the CCP was replaced by another party China will still give and grow.

Yeah this is nonsense. There are 2 Asian countries with a comprehensive industrial base. China and Japan. Japan got theirs from their Imperial Japan era. China got it from the Mao era. Otherwise everyone else is only allowed to succeed in narrow fields. To this day South Korea still can't do some things that China did in 1970, let alone Malaysia or Singapore. No hate but facts are facts.

India is in between these cases. They have a little nationalism so ISRO can do some things but they are overall just another post colonial 3rd world country.

Even before British colonization, India has been ruled by foreign conquerors. For almost the entirety of India's history, the native population of India have been second-class citizens: servants to a non-native ruling elite. The first Indian civilization, the Vedic Civilization, was created by Indo-European migrants from Central Asia. The caste system was created during this time period to institutionalize the rule of the Indo-European ruling class over a subservient native Indian population. India would then be conquered and ruled continuously by waves of foreign invaders: various Indo-European groups, Huns/Xiongnu, Mamluks, Turks, Mongols, and finally, back to the Indo-Europeans (the British). The end result is you have a country filled with people that are incapable of governing themselves without a foreign master to follow. The majority of the population have the mentality of slaves, while the upper caste elites only know how to exploit the lower castes to enjoy lives of luxury, and know nothing of statecraft or nation building.

The Deal is that South Korea will give to the United States $350 Billion Dollars for Investments owned and controlled by the United States, and selected by myself, as President. Additionally, South Korea will purchase $100 Billion Dollars of LNG, or other Energy products and, further, South Korea has agreed to invest a large sum of money for their Investment purposes. This sum will be announced within the next two weeks when the President of South Korea, Lee Jae Myung, comes to the White House for a Bilateral Meeting. I would also like to congratulate the new President on his Electoral Success. It is also agreed that South Korea will be completely OPEN TO TRADE with the United States, and that they will accept American product including Cars and Trucks, Agriculture, etc. We have agreed to a Tariff for South Korea of 15%. America will not be charged a Tariff.
