Just saw some combat footage from the Thai POV and all the talk of them far outclassing the Cambodians had me thinking that while the country is middle income, perhaps the military is at least somewhat modern. And yeah they are compared to the Cambodians who have soldiers fighting shirtless and in flip flops, but even compared to like Ukrainian soldiers at the beginning of the Russian invasion Thai infantry are woefully underequipped.
In the context of modern war, this border conflict really is the equivalent of a slapfight. Unfortunately one that's resulting in civilian deaths.

That looks more like a T-55. It lacks a large protruding top MG like the M60 Patton.

Thai M42 transported to the front. From the looks of it, this might be Vietnam War 2.0, but with drones. M48 + M42 vs. T-55.
Thailand probably only utilized their Reserve Army in handling the conflict tbh, probably not even utilizing their primary armoured forces.
Oh, that's just nominal Thai pretext for initiating a war against Cambodia. Tensions have been simmering for years, if not decades.

Disputed border. Both side claimed the temple is in area of their control.
The few hundred year old ancient temple just happened to be inside that area.
