Article abt Japan exports. Excerpt:
Exports from the world's fourth-largest economy dropped 0.5% in June year-on-year in value terms, compared with a median market forecast for a 0.5% increase and a 1.7% decrease in May, the first decline in eight months.
Exports to the United States tumbled 11.4% in June from a year earlier, the largest monthly percentage decline since February 2021, dragged down by a 26.7% plunge in automobiles, a 15.5% fall in auto components and a 40.9% plunge in pharmaceuticals.
But the volume of automobile shipments rose 3.4%, indicating Japanese automakers are cutting prices on exported cars and absorbing tariff costs to stay competitive.
"Japanese automakers have so far kept production levels by sacrificing margins, so the tariff impact on their production activities has been limited," Koya Miyamae, senior economist at SMBC Nikko Securities, said.
But Daiwa's Akimoto said Japanese companies would be forced to raise prices eventually, as trade negotiations drag on and the yen stays relatively strong.

why would they discuss soft power when they know they already have it.

According to you, exporting "Arabic Soft Power" is a component of Vision 2030:
Vision 2030 is about creating healthy society through Sports, Culture, Tourism and introducing Arabic Soft Power to wider world.

If you're going to export something relatively intangible to a new audience or customer base, there's obviously going to be a need to plan for it with clear parameters.

So either "Arabic Soft Power" got nothing to do with Vision 2030, or the people responsible for Vision 2030 are completely incompetent, at least in their ability or lack thereof to plan ahead.

There is no post hydrocarbon world. Just look Japan and South Korea. how much they depends on Aviation and cargo ships as economy depends further on foreigners for work, study and tourism and imports.

No one specified a timeline, and if there is a timeline, it ought to be measured in generations, rather than years.

Likewise, for countries like Saudi Arabia, developing a diversified and modern economy, that is not dependent on oil revenue, will also take generations.

imagine what will happen to developed world in next 5 to 10 years.

I have no idea as I'm clearly utterly clueless, if not the dumbest person in the room. :D

Why don't you enlighten us on what you foresee for the developed world in the next five to ten years?

the ICE vehicles sold today will still be functioning for next 20 years.

So what?

People who like to ride horses, at least in developed Western countries, usually own cars, often rather nice cars too.

That doesn't mean horses remain particularly relevant as a form of transportation, outside of certain niche markets and environments.

certain things you cannot learn by reading or watching on a display screen. Arabic Soft Power takes long time to recognize and appreciate as it is in state of mind.

What's the Arabic term for "Arabic Soft Power?"

I'd like to know if it is actually a thing outside of your mind.

see this example from today regarding Ukraine mobilization which RT arabic hardly post on twitter but this time the did because they want to convey some thing.

You're basically implying that Arab self worth is determined by Russian acknowledgement of their existence.

That's kind of sad, if not embarrassing.

They understand Trump and all the people around him. so i will not second guess Royals confidence on him.

That's pretty much impossible given

for appointees of the Trump administration unless your royal betters are omniscient.

how do you know there real interests?. have you studied and understood the soft power.

Natural selection is as applicable to statecraft as it is to biology.

Unfit polities are dominated and vassalized by more fit competitors, if not outright absorbed or erased from existence.

You can question my credentials all you want, but it isn't going to alter the balance of power between Israel and the Arab world in terms of influence in and over Washington, or in general.

Putin is getting exactly what he expects from Arabic Soft Power which is teaching Russians traditional values the hard way.

That is absurd. No one in Putin's position would outsource moral authority to a foreign culture that he can't control, never mind personally embody.

Not even sure what you mean by "the hard way."

SINGAPORE: Singapore is actively dealing with a "highly sophisticated threat actor" that is attacking critical infrastructure, Coordinating Minister for National Security K Shanmugam said on Friday (Jul 18).

Mr Shanmugam identified the entity as UNC3886, which Mandiant has described as a "China-nexus espionage group" that has targeted prominent strategic organisations on a global scale.

im quite curious as to know whether UNC3886 is even linked to the Chinese or this just more anti-Chinese psy-ops .singling out the group that is allegedly Chinese might have some subtle messaging that the Singapore government is trying to send. And why now of all times when this has been ongoing since 2021?

Mandiant is a cybersecurity firm owned by Google.

The threat actor poses a serious danger to Singapore and could undermine the country's national security, said Mr Shanmugam, who is also Home Affairs Minister.

He added that it was not in Singapore's security interests to disclose further details of the attack at this point in time.

Elaborating on "advanced persistent threats" (APTs), of which UNC3886 is one, Mr Shanmugam said these were highly sophisticated and well-resourced threat actors.

Between 2021 and 2024, suspected APT attacks on Singapore increased more than fourfold, he said.

The minister was speaking at a dinner to mark 10 years since the Cyber Security Agency of Singapore (CSA) was established in 2015.
"APTs are highly sophisticated and well-resourced actors. They typically act on state objectives. They steal sensitive information, they disrupt essential services," he said.

"APT groups have been identified, like Sandworm, the Typhoons cluster. They attack critical infrastructure like healthcare, telcos, water, transport, power."

The name "Typhoon" is based on Microsoft's naming system for threat actors, which uses the label for those acting on behalf of or directed by China.

The Washington Post has reported that a group known as Salt Typhoon infiltrated major US telco carriers in a move that allowed them to intercept communications of top politicians.

The US government has reportedly linked Salt Typhoon to China's Ministry of State Security.

Volt Typhoon, another group suspected to be run by China's People's Liberation Army, reportedly compromised electric and water infrastructure.

Channel news asia is a singapore media right? Also is Singapore gov in partnership with google owned Mandiant? Singapore doesnt hav their own local cybersec industry?
we do have our own. whatever the case now that a SG govt official called out a "Chinese" link group relations might turn for the worse. this sort of news is only going to give the anti-cn faction more power. local Singaporeans are already paranoid of a wave of mainlanders coming into their lands and ruining it, such news are only going to make things worse.
