It is simple propaganda.

90% of the damage done by infiltration groups.

The Israel Air Force played only suplemental role.

Yes. I am aware that sabotage groups were responsible for most of Israel's "air campaign" in the early stages.

I posted that article as it is an admission by U.S. media that it was necessary for them to enact regime-change in Syria in order to proceed with their grander designs.

If the US does strike, I am interested to see how many assets they deploy to the region. In theory, they could have several hundred Air Force aircraft deployed. In a big operation, how many aircraft can the Air Force deploy on a short time scale (two weeks)?

The total inventory is 2,027 aircraft as of September 2024. So I assume you could probably get ~600 F-15, F-16, F-22 and F-35 deployed to the region if they wanted to go for a large strike. This assumes they have the airbases in the region to support such a large deployment.

Outside of the Air Force, the Navy can also deploy a large number of aircraft. This likely depends on the number of carriers deployed to the region. The Navy has a large number of F-18 E/F's in its inventory, so a couple hundred should not be out of the question.

I think in a large deployment that the US Armed Forces could deploy anywhere from ~800 to 1200 aircraft to the region (assuming the bases can support such a deployment).

Hmm
It seems Israel opted for a more night time operation for yesterday/today strikes. This seems imply that Iran has manage to so far in reactivating much of their Air Defense capabilities.

In the days leading up to the strike, Trump and his team became increasingly convinced that diplomacy had run its course — and that military action would be necessary to eliminate Iran's nuclear program.

with the U.S. unless Israel halts its attacks. Trump, now convinced no deal is possible, appears to have moved ahead with the military option he once hoped to avoid.
Here’s the thinking behind Trump’s decision. Iran is pretty much screwed unfortunately. Guess it was always Israel First.
