I'll have to say I MUCH prefer these nozzles over the alleged WS-21 (black + small serrations). The purported gun port is also visible here:

Wow! I really really like these nozzles, especially the petals. Dare we say these are WS-19? (pretty please)

Cockpit look is nice; hope we see that possible new helmet soon too.
That's what I said when I saw one of the J-35As during Zhuhai sporting the same nozzles, but unfortunately I don't think that's the case. They might even be WS-13/E.

Unfortunate, got excited for a moment there. I feel the wait for WS-19 is having an itch we can't scratch!

Actually, I dunno. You genuinely are better off rolling a dice and guess. The WS-13 family is a pretty mangled mess, and it doesn't help that no one can say for sure what the WS-19 looks like other than (maybe TVC) unlike the WS-15.

why is that some of the J-35s have that metal thing in front and others don’t? I know it’s for prototypes mostly but not everyone has it so why are some still in testing phase when others don’t look like they are?
Radome pitot. Basically early (with radome pitot) vs late prototypes (without).

why are they still testing/flying both types?

Well, now I found this:

(which corroborates with my other source one or two years ago stating the WS-19s have been testing on J-35s since 2023)
Courtesy of by78, we can reasonably suspect that the TVC nozzle shown at the Zhuhai Airshow (I forget which year) in fact depicts the WS-19.

All that needs to be done, and which should be no insurmountable task for the dedicated folks at SDF, is to count the number of petals on the TVC nozzle and match it to the # of corresponding petals on the engine of prototype #3506.

They have completed testing with the pitot tube at the initial stages of flight tests, it is just that it is not necessary to dismantle it.

If you dismantled this pitot tube, you still have to install another pitot tube at the side of the fuselage. It is like doing something for nothing because you would still end up with a pitot tube attached to the aircraft.

You need pitot tube to measure air speed. Every aircraft have at least one pitot tube, regardless of whether they are military or commercial aircraft.
