Just got home and was channel surfing and on MSNBC one geopolitical commentator interestingly said that with IsAF having total air superiority over Western Iran and Tehran itself,the Iranians have to ask themselves,"billions of dollars to support Palestinians,Houthis,Hezbollah,Syrians etc" and Iran itself is near defenceless -why haven't we Iranians taking care of ourselves FIRST??"China's policy of non-entanglement(especially with the incompetent and ungrateful) and taking care of China /Chinese FIRST is absolutely correct-long may it continue.

I doubt they will - and frankly, even if they win it would likely be a mistake as it risks turning China into the same kind of chauvinist entity like: The US, The EU, Russia, etc.
But this is the first time since Vietnam that the vast majority of NATOs long term force projection is booked for an extended period of time.
So if China wants to retake Taiwan by force; now would be the most opportune time and it’s unlikely for such an opportunity to come again the next few decades or even half century.
Since they said this before, I'm pretty sure the west will find even more ways to mess up like the US having civil war or something. So there might be a even better chance in the future.
Let's be honest here, Iran can spend the entire national budget on air defence/forces and still not be able to defend its air space.
They simply don't have the technology to do it.
Proxy forces exist as an alternate way to strike your enemies when you are outmatched in the conventional domain. If you don't spend on these proxy forces, you have neither defence nor offense, no options to play when your enemy strikes you.
China's peace in late 20th century is kept by nuclear weapons and residual reputation from the Korean war. Just because you don't anything, doesn't mean people won't push your shit in, that's not how the world works. Just watch the Conservatives in Israel doing everything they could to sabotage the nuclear talks.
Obviously they’ve been cutting corners on maintenance. Higher ups need to be held accountable or more tragedies will occur.
Its going to be a massive meltdown if there was an undisclosed issue that starts to pop up after an X number of cycles/years in the 787
Small issues happen all the time, that are not considered serious enough to divert the flight and are never reported publicly. Even many issues requiring diversion go without world wide publicity. But when a serious incident with hull loss or loss of life happens, the crew will become extra careful for the next few days/weeks, and every small incident gets widely reported, especially if it is the same model, making it look like a sudden abnormal increase of incidents.
There was an earlier software issue with 787 that crops up after continuously running for 248 days. But it was patched many years ago.
