Mood is different in the two countries. We saw earlier as well during the strikes in Iran, people just casually driving along.

Cyprus is the shaft providing logistical space to Israel + NATO for the Gaza Genocide and regional conflicts. The sheer # of Tel Aviv - Larnaca flights happening daily for the past one year are insane. It also houses Akrotiri AFB of UK and Paphos AFB of US.

I see many posts about the Iranian lackluster performance in the start especially the intelligence failures and the air defense going down but keep in mind that they are not fighting a single country but a coalition of at least 10+ countries including the only super power and the top military and economic powers. I would say they have performed relatively well so far though they can still improve on the intelligence front and safeguarding their top leadership.

If it was a new issue then yes. This however is a reoccurring issue that has not been addressed.
The issue is that their military leadership got decapitated because Israel is able to obtain information of their whereabouts through miles planted throughout the government. No matter how capable the military is, it doesn’t really matter. Until the security concern is addressed this sort of thing will keep happening.

If it was done this way, the Israeli attack was much more “primitive” than the Ukrainian one on Russian strategic air bases, since the Israeli attack required the presence of Special Forces on the ground to operate the drones. The Ukrainian attack was controlled remotely (from thousands of kilometers away).
