CV-18 will be commissioned soon? Are these scaffolds on the island indicate a final cleaning is going on?
It appears the smokestack is undergoing modifications because of performance issues seen during the recent sea trials. Exhaust gases from the funnel have been interfering with the radar and satellite comms on the top of the mast.

So we can likely expect at least 1-2 additional sea trials following these adjustments before the carrier is commissioned.

Got a source for that?

I'm curious about the space between the two front catapults, seems that if you were to launch a KJ-600 from one fo them, space would be tight for for any other plane next to it once the wings are deployed.
It seems the two dashed lines between the front catapults marks out the clearance zone for the launch of aircraft on each catapult. Presumably they mark the swept zones of the wing tips of KJ-600 as the KJ-600 likely has by far the largest wing span of any aircraft the carrier would normally embark.

37 minus 5, overlapping and obstructing runway and 1 bow cat. 32 plus hangar, probably 20 to 24 J15 sized planes in the hangar. So, roughly 50 something aircraft. Several SAR/utility helicopters, 4 KJ600, 4 J15D? And 40 regular J15? Not counting J35 of course.

Why Liaoning, Shandong, & Kitty Hawk don't have such issue? Is that because Fujian's island is too small therefore its chimney is too close to the mast?
