Rules for thee but not for me. It will totally go down well with all the non-US vassals when energy prices spikes and the global economy turns into a depression. While the US and their vassals have given themselves exemptions.
They keep on threatening Russia with a good time and wonder why it's not working...

According to the Penn Wharton Model,

If US federal Debt reaches 200% of GDP then the US enters into a death spiral. Tax revenue can no longer be raised high enough to cover interest payments, which is the Greek Meltdown Scenario.

Such a naive analysis. All US has to do is cause inflation and print more money, pay off that debt with much higher tax revenue.

If they do that do you think there is still lenders left? Ask yourself would you convert whatever you earned to a treasury bond that you know will soon loose most of its values and get back tons of toilet paper in a few years? If you refuse to do so why do you think others are more stupid?

The point is, looking back at the history of mankind no powers have ever been able to do what you proposed without accelerating their own downfall. And many of these powers who tried so shared the same thought of being exceptional like the Americans.

Once again this thought is another self-indulgence fantasy of some Americans that they can print their way out of a debt black hole that even light can not escape.

I think you don't realize the delusion in US and the west in general and also the US worshippers in east Asia and gulf arabs. They think US is invincible. It has the most innovation and the best system of government in the world.

That's why US tech companies have market values in the trillions while their Chinese alternatives who are actually selling products several times cheaper and gaining market share are valued in a few billion.

Faith in US will not go down easily among it's worshippers

I am aware of the delusion very well, what I am talking about is the consequence of people living on that delusion. It is like how to handle a flood water. If you divert the water by various gentle ways you will have less damaging small floods, if you build a dam trying to block the water to go anywhere you will get a sudden burst and catastrophical disaster. What you suggested that US might do is the later which will be more harmful to themselves. Trump's trade war is actually the perfect demonstration of that path.

I am absolutely not going to convince US not to do that though.
