I've only ever seen Chinese people come to the major US cities for study wonder why the place is so backwards and crappy.--I have enough confidence in our democracy that the Chinese will come here and be impressed by our country.
well, what do you guys think of this assertion?
Multiple girls I dated have told me that white boys showed them around the city trying to impress them and all they thought was, 'WTF is this dump? It's a slum compared to my hometown in China and I'm not even from a first tier city."
I was driving with my parents in law in Decatur, Georgia, which is like peripheral Atlanta, 8 miles off of the busiest parts. It's, as Americans would say it, a modern and convenient place without the traffic jams of downtown. They asked me why we have gone to the countryside.
I have never seen Chinese people impressed with American society or infrastructure or modernity. But the ones who choose to stay do it for one reason, "Yes, everything's a little bit shit but life's really easy and non-competitive here."
