The first footage of a Russian kamikaze drone "Lancet-51" striking a Ukrainian checkpoint. This has not been observed before, usually "Lancet" drones only attack military equipment. The video was filmed near the village of Glybnoe in the Sumy region of Ukraine.
There's a new strategem being used with Lancets and some FPV drones, even with Gerberas which is the Geran decoy drone. In this, the Lancet is now used as a one way one use reconnaissance drone. It would loiter over enemy positions, and the Lancet operator will call for FPV drone strikes, even artillery or an Iskander strike, depending on the target. The Lancet continues to loiter for objective verification of target damage and destruction. After which, it would expend itself on a target, sometimes as a finishing move, or if the target is associated with the main target that was destroyed such as a support vehicle. It's possible that a Lancet would expend itself against a non vehicular target if no vehicular target is around.
The advantage of a one use scout drone is that it doesn't need to come home. A drone returning to it's origin point is one of the ways the whereabouts of a drone crew is discovered, where the location will be subsequently hit with a strike.
Unique footage of an air battle between two drones in Ukraine. In the video, a Russian DJI Mavic drone cuts the fiber optic cable of a Ukrainian FPV drone with its propellers. As a result of losing contact with the operator, the Ukrainian drone falls.
I heard Zelensky is complaining that China doesn't allow DJI drones to be sold in Ukraine but is still selling them in Russia. Originally I thought DJI has stopped all sales to both regions.
There appears to be a memo out for the Russians to stop using Mavics to ram Baba Yaga hexacopters. After the ram, due to the fact the Baba Yaga has great redundancy with it's six blades, the Baba Yaga can still return home. Instead the Mavics are now resorting to dropping nets.
Finally with regards to the Real Reporter's interview of a Russian drone engineer, which did gave valuable insights, the engineer chided Chinese drones as toys. If they were so, why are both sides still heavily using Mavics now deep after four years of the war?
