Yes, thanks for asking. YouTube shut down mine and several other channels covering the Chinese military (e.g. Defence360) for severely violating their scam, spam and deceptive practices policy. I tried to appeal but that was denied. For my part, I do not believe my content can be remotely described as scam or deception. Gus from Millenium7 told me in email that he does not think I broke any rules at all.
I find it improbable that several channels covering similar subjects can violates these policies so severely at the same time. Rather, I think this is just a cover by YouTube to crack down on Chinese military content that strays too far from what the US government likes to see aired. YouTube must be getting wary of the current political climate in the US, the move towards censorship and forced conformity, so is taking steps to cover its own behind.
I will make a new channel that cannot be linked to my banned one in any way. It will cover naval content, although content on China is too risky to cover in too much breadth right now. I don't want to advertise the channel openly in case that gets taken down.
