Russian aviation has begun to actively use high-precision Kh-38 air-to-surface missiles. Kh-38 missiles can be used by Ka-52 helicopters and fourth- and fifth-generation fighters, most often they are used by Su-34 aircraft. The Kh-38 missile was developed by the Russian Tactical Missile Weapons Corporation in 2012 and is designed to destroy a wide range of targets: from armored vehicles to surface ships. The Kh-38ME family of missiles are modular, they can be equipped with warheads weighing up to 250 kg and various homing heads. Guidance of all missile modifications is combined - on the cruising section, the missile is controlled by an inertial control system, and on the final section of the trajectory it switches to homing.

Kh-38MLE - missiles with laser homing head
Kh-38MKE - missiles with GLONASS navigation
Kh-38MTE - missiles with thermal imaging homing head
Kh-38MAE - missiles with active radar homing head

Based on the results of use, the most effective version, the Kh-38MLE missile, has a laser homing head, the target is usually illuminated by a UAV. The missile can have a penetrating warhead, high-explosive fragmentation, or cluster, modification of the Kh-38MKE. The flight range of the Kh-38 missile is up to 70 km, when launched from an altitude of 12,000 meters. When launched from low altitude to 27 km.

The GUR officialy revealed the existence of a new Russian cruise missile: the "Bandarol"

Its use has been reported several times in recent weeks but we have now a better image of what this system actually is.
What was previously described as an improved jet-powered Shahed is in fact a new small cruise missile.

Here are its main characteristics:
Flight speed: ~650km/
Range: ~550km
Length: 5m
Warhead weight: ~100kg

It is notably believe to be air-launched by Orion MALE drones, one of them was seen back in 2023 carrying at a time unknown munition. It will potentialy be launched by Mi-28 helicopters.

This is not an improvement to drone technology but a years long project to field a cruise missile filling the gap between the long-range and highly capable/expensive X-101 and the 200km range X-59. The warhead weight is ~twice of a regular Shahed and the speed gives it more kinetic energy but falls short of the 500kg-1ton of the X-101.
The S8000 "Banderol" cruise missile has a fuselage about 5 m long with stealth elements. The retractable wing has a span of 2.2 m. The missile is equipped with a small (weighing only 8.5 kg) SW800Pro-A95 turbojet engine with a thrust of 80 kg, which is said to be produced by the Chinese company Swiwin Turbine & Jets.

The fuel reserve is estimated at 50-65 kg, which provides a flight range of up to 500 km.

The missile's cruising speed is 520-560 km/h, with a maximum speed of 620-650 km/h.

According to available data, the Banderol missile is equipped with a 115 kg OFBCh-150 high-explosive fragmentation warhead with a mass of 49.5 kg.

The missile's satellite guidance system is based on the Kometa-M8 8-channel GLONASS/GPS receiver manufactured by JSC VNIIR-Progress.

The United Aircraft Corporation has handed over another batch of new Su-35S multirole fighters to the Russian Defense Ministry. This is the second batch of Su-35S fighters this year; the number of aircraft is not reported. The Su-35S aircraft, generation 4++, have undergone a full cycle of factory tests, were tested in various operating modes and flew to their home airfield. The Su-35S, thanks to its powerful radar, can illuminate targets for long-range air defense; it can be used to combat the F-16 at a long distance. New batches of Su-34, Su-35S and Su-57 aircraft are currently in production. Su-35S.

The first information about the new Russian cruise missile C8000 "Banderol" has appeared, previously it was shown only for a few seconds. Data on the "Banderol" missile was analyzed from its wreckage by Ukrainian intelligence. The characteristics of the missile are approximate. Presumably, the missile is used by the Orion UAV, and in the future, Mi-28N helicopters will also be used. According to the Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine, the missile's range is up to 500 km, flight speed is up to 650 km / h, it is equipped with a Chinese turbojet engine SW800Pro-A95, company Swiwin Turbine & Jets. The missile is equipped with a 114-kilogram high-explosive fragmentation warhead OFBCh-150, the mass of explosive in which is 49.5 kg. The missile's guidance system, according to GLONASS and GPS, uses the Russian satellite signal receiver "Kometa-M8". The estimated flight altitude of the missile is from 25 to 50 meters. The rocket makes extensive use of imported electronic components.

New domestic engines accelerate drones by 30%

In collaboration with the Moscow Aviation Institute, domestic manufacturers are developing a line of electric motors for heavy civilian copters and unmanned aerial vehicles.

Among other things, according to the head of the MAI laboratory, Nikolai Ivanov, by the end of 2025 it is planned to launch mass production of engines with a capacity of up to 100 kW from Russian components.

Thus, a universal brushless electric motor with a power of 10 kW has already been created and adapted for mass production, which during testing showed the ability to briefly develop up to 16 kW at 6800 rpm.

Also, the company «Motochrome» presented a series of «Vertihvost» engines, the power of which reaches 2–8 kW and which are designed for devices weighing 40–100 kg.

Particularly noteworthy is the experimental «Svirel» with two independent engines, which increase the speed of the UAV by 20-30% despite the total power up to 5 kW. This is achieved due to a rotation speed of 12 thousand rpm.

Concern «Radioelectronic technologies» produces «Sarma» and «Barguzin» engines, the declared efficiency of which is higher than foreign analogues.

I doubt they know the numbers. for this conflict bigger missile role is decreasing as the smaller rockets get improved.
and time sensitive targets they use Onyx. last one was on April 21. Just single shot of Onyx made news. most of those missiles can be replaced by Tornado-S. that destroyed small targets like Himar vehicle since 2023 or earlier

This rocket for both Tornado S and Su-34NVO.

What are the capabilities of the Tornado-S MLRS with the new UMBP glide modules in the SVO zone?

In this case, the product was used from the suspension unit of the modernized multifunctional fighter-bomber Su-34NVO, as indicated by the presence of fastening "loops" on the fuselage generatrix. Obviously, when dropped at an altitude of 13,500 m and a speed of 1,050 km / h, the gliding range of the D-30SN can reach 135 km.
What is even more important, on a complex terrain, abundant with hills and elevations, the D-30SN UMBP gliding modules will be able to strike targets both on the frontal and on the opposite slopes with flexible variation of azimuth angles and dive angles to inflict maximum damage to powerful enemy fortifications, including bunker architecture at depths of up to 7-10 m, the construction of which the enemy has placed maximum emphasis on today along the 2nd and 3rd lines of defense. The standard 300-mm guided rockets 9M542, 9M544 and 9M549 do not have such capabilities.
As for the detection range of the D-30SN UMBP gliding units by the above-mentioned enemy radar systems, for the 36D6 and Pelican radars it may be approximately 65 and 105 km, respectively, for the TRML-4D - approximately 60 km, for the AN/MPQ-64F1 - approximately 30 km. Such ranges are due to the assumed effective reflective surface of the UMBP of approximately 0.03 sq. m. Consequently, even with the bending of these zones, the range of the D-30SN gliding units will be approximately 200–230 km; without bending - approximately 300 km. Thus, promising two-stage rockets based on the booster solid propellant rocket motors of the 9M544 rockets and UMBP modules will increase the operational and tactical potential of the Tornado-S MLRS to the level of the Iskander-M OTRK.
The D-30SN UMBP interspecific gliding munition has a promising guidance system based on a high-precision inertial navigation unit (similar to that used in the 9-A-7759 Grom-1 and 9-A1-7759 Grom-2 gliding UABs), equipped with highly sensitive longitudinal and lateral acceleration sensors, as well as a GLONASS correction radio navigation module using an upgraded interference-resistant L-band antenna Kometa-M. This antenna module has an 8-beam narrow-beam vertically oriented radiation pattern with lower hemisphere shielding, as well as the ability to maintain radio navigation channels even in the event of exposure to 7 electronic warfare systems located on unmanned or manned aircraft platforms in the upper hemisphere. Thus, the promising D-30SN gliding module will be at least 2 times superior to the American GBU-39/B analogue both in terms of range and warhead weight, as well as in terms of the level of interference immunity of the GLONASS correction module.
