Haha, no way that is happening. Nuclear strike is essentially suicide bombing. You attack with the expectation that you will die as well. Modi and BJP are show men, not suicidal.
That'll be a godsend for the US. They'll be literally drooling over China fighting with its neighbour while they manouvre to reap every advantage over Taiwan with China distracted. Everyone's hyped to see how their PLA toys perform now but don't lose track of the greater geopolitical game.

Taking India out while its still weak is not a bad play for China. India is a long term threat that also needs to be kept in check. India is still too divided and weak, its not a bad play to destablize India so much that they stop Economic growth and even break up into pieces.
Taiwan is not such a big deal, Taking US is certainly the main game. But success depends on opportunities. If China can take India out while only helping its ally, its not a bad play. China will not be seen as an aggressor.
China won't directly step in. At most they will only assist in supplies and logistics. They have eastern front to worry about
