So far, it
appears last night the IAF lost:
1 x Dassault Rafale in
(
nearly certain)
1 x Dassault Mirage 2000 in
(
fairly likely)
This wreckage was likely
initially misidentified by certain Indian sources as a PAF JF-17.
1 x Russian made fighter equipped with one or two Zvezda K-36 ejection seat(s) in
(
possible)
This claimed loss can be reasonably upgraded to
fairly likely if the photos below are authentic and were indeed captured in Ramban in the aftermath of Operation Sindoor (assuming the ejection seat is indeed a Zvezda K-36 as claimed).
Question is: was this an IAF Su-30MKI or MiG-29UPG airframe?
Therefore,
as of this moment, I'm counting what's
likely two (2),
possibly at least three (3) IAF airframe losses from Operation Sindoor.
Keep in mind these losses could have been a result of a mix of hostile fire, friendly fire, pilot error, and/or mechanical failure, but combat conditions were likely a factor in all of the attrition.
There's been claims that
one additional airframe, which some have claimed to be an
IAF Su-30MKI or a
, was lost in Akhnoor Municipal Committee, Jammu District, Jammu & Kashmir.
However, besides
, which contained
taken from a distance, there hasn't been much reporting on the airframe that was reportedly lost in Akhnoor.
Has anyone come across more
definitive evidence confirming the loss of a Su-30MKI or any other airframe in Akhnoor?
