Trump blinked, but beware this guy like to flip-flop. China should wait out Trump to actually reduce tariff before even talking to him. All tariff and port charges etc must be revoked first or else he would use tariff reductions proposals and port charges as his negotiation tools.
I think China already made it pretty clear: US drops all tariff on China while China keeps all tariffs on US, then we can talk, slowly.

TRUMP ASKED IF HE’LL PLAY HARDBALL WITH CHINA, SAYS NO

LOL Xi wasn't even holding out; he was just minding his business, managing China and walking away. This is saying Xi won against Trump but it's even sadder because Xi wasn't even playing. Trump aggressively started a game with a dude who wasn't mentally present, didn't even bother to play, and he lost to that guy.

Chinese port fees is to prevent orders from going to Korean and Japanese shipyards. You have to understand the purpose of the America port fees is NOT to shift ship building to the US. The true purpose is to reduce orders to Chinese shipyards by forcing them to non-Chinese ones.

Regarding the United States' policy on China's shipping industry's industry, the latest news has nearly made Chinese people die of laughter.
The video above is domestic commentary from someone following this matter.

China should wait at least three months no matter what, wait till the effect of the tariffs start to manifest and americans start to panic, that would be the optimal time to negotiate. Art of the deal baby

No trump drops tariffs, china drops tariffs. The end of it.
Nah, we don't want their shit anymore and we don't wanna make shit for them anymore. What's the goal? Trade 2% of our GDP for the US to go into recession and see if they can eventually rebalance themselves into an economy that lives within its means and with a much reduced standard of living compared to when they were living on Chinese goods. See how their global talent recruitment goes then.

There will be no deal. Trump basically gave China a massive gift with the ridiculous tariffs. In doing so, it solved a hell of a lot of the problems that was holding Beijing back in the first place, as Beijing doesn’t want to be seen as the bad guy domestically or internationally, so it had pull a lot of punches to avoid looking like it is hell bent on destroying the Sino-US relationship, and causing all the economic hardship that will result.

Now with Trump’s tariffs, no one in their right mind can blame any of the fallout on China. This gives China a free hand to play a lot of the cards it couldn’t easily before, since those moves will carry a large degree of spillover pain both domestically and internationally. Now it can point to Trump as the sole source of that pain, rather than Beijing.

Trump also broke a cardinal rule when he made his tariff move. That went way beyond normal trade dispute back and forth, and was basically the poker equivalent of flipping the table and pulling a knife out and making a lung for the other guy. Only the other guy was more than ready and easily deflected your stab while whipping out a hand cannon and blasted a giant hole in you.

The fact that you only managed a flesh wound when you wanted to go for the jugular doesn’t allow you to go back to playing the original poker game like that knifing never happened. Especially when the other guy is just warming up and deciding where best to put more holes in you.

China has been preparing for this moment since the first trade war, it’s not fucking around and won’t back down. Instead, it’s going for the kill. The only tricky thing to manage is to deal terminal damage while also not being immediately lethal. China wants America to bleed out slowly without realising its already dead, as to simply headshot the America economy risks leaving them with nothing left to loose to not go for a Hell Mary by starting a kinetic hot war.
