The way to bypass Trump thinking he can return all manufacturing back to the US because it’s going to cost more is building two different manufacturing hubs like how Elon Musk has his factory in Shanghai makes Tesla’s for most of the rest of the world while his US factory makes them for the US and Canada only. The ones from Shanghai which is his most profitable factory can’t face tariffs in the US because they never cross the US border.I think differently about this now, and China will win this trade brawl over America, bigly.
We have to look at trade numbers for the coming couple of years.

That’s the lesson to be learned by the world. Trump can always complain about something new and then slap tariffs . In the end the US has lost nothing if it’s all about just removing the latest ones.
