Some interesting news, especially for members in Texas.

A while back there was this story of a prisoner swap between US and China. One person who was swapped back was Jin Shanlin who was a PhD student in Southern Methodist University, Texas.

He was basically caught torrenting child porn? I thought maybe it was planted evidence or something but his statements are a bit incriminating.

Anyways, recently Texas passed a bill that incriminates any depiction of a child (under 18) engaging in "obscene" activities, regardless of whether the depiction is an image of an actual child, a cartoon or animation, or an image created using an artificial intelligence application or other computer software.

Torrenting anything in the USA without VPN is stupid.

Just Be thankful it wasn’t an air India flight.
It was almost an Air India flight. Do you know how many Indians go through Doha when traveling between the US and India? The flight was like 70% Indian and I joked with my wife, "How angry would you be, if we got through 10 hours of a 15 hour flight caring for this child, only for the pilot to announce that we're going back to Qatar because a bunch of Indians blew up the aircraft plumbing by flushing towels/blankets down the toilets and now people were shitting and pissing on the floor in the back of the plane?"

I made the mistake of sitting in economy on an emirates flight between Europe and Doha. The Indians stank up the flight but that wasn’t the worst of it, they were loud, demanding and insisted that the flight stewardesses all attended to them. Then an Indian father picked up his infant and walked up and down the aisle cropdusting us with his BO, I’m just thankful I still had my face masks on my carry on luggage from Covid days. From then on, I have resolved either never to transit through Doha or always fly business away from the Indians.

I remain on the stance that a military clash is coming at some point. Their inevitable defeat in Ukraine will make them desperate.
I agree with this. It's important to remember that before the outbreak of WW1 people thought that state vs state conflict was a thing of the past and due to closer trade ties nations would "co-operate" more in the future. War is nothing more than an extension of diplomacy, where talking fails, arms will succeed.

"Canada reconsidering F-35 purchase amid tensions with Washington, says minister"

...

"Canada’s new Prime Minister Mark Carney ordered a review of the country’s contract with the US’s Lockheed Martin Corp for F-35 fighter jets, a new front in the dispute between the two sides in response to tariffs and expansionist rhetoric from President Donald Trump.

Hours after being sworn into office on Friday, the former central banker asked Defence Minister Bill Blair to work with the armed forces and his department “to determine if the F-35 contract, as it stands, is the best investment for Canada, and if there are other options that could better meet Canada’s needs,” a defense ministry spokesperson said by email.[...]"

Seems, US wont change their "containment approach" with China.. which also mean those unfunding or cancellation of support for some NGOs or operations, maybe will not include vs China groups or maybe diverted through other means?
They are consolidating resources for their confrontation with China. They are going to move assets to the pacific and try to bait China into reacting then use it as pretext to get the Voltron crew to go at China. Look at the recent statements coming out of the G7 meeting, even after Trump went after them they tucked their tails between their legs and obeyed orders from the US. For them, containing China and maintaining white supremacy is paramount, they can sort out their differences later.

First order of business is to quietly render the potential power of BRICS ineffective. The plan is to pull Russia and India away from China and punish South Africa therefore isolating China. The problem is that Russia can see through this and have publicly stated they weren't interested in abandoning their friendship with China, all of a sudden we're hearing about threats of sanctions. I have to hand it to South Africa though, even being the weakest member of the OG BRICS they are standing tall. Apartheid is just too fresh in their memory and any form of European oppression gives them PTSD. India remains a potential trojan horse for me, not because I have some type of grievance against them but because they might do that thing where they try to act too neutral and creating a situation where they have no firm ground to stand on.

All the more reason to drain American power which is what China is doing with the BRI and recycling US dollars into Chinese assets as opposed to U.S. debt.
