No. Not really DPPs doings. They have no idea what they are doing.
Context is important
Much of what Taiwan used to export to China has been taken over by domestic firms. Similar to Korea's trade with china. As china goes higher on the tech ladder, they need less and less form Taiwan.
High end semi, which china wants, is banned for export but the US.
US import from Taiwan is from import substitution due to tariff on China. Once Trump puts tariff on Taiwan, that may change.
So nothing the DPP does, it's all economics.
I think more details will need to come like how much of exact spending govt will do. The central govt has quite a bit of headroom for absorbing more debt, interest rates are anyways very low. I suspect Hang Seng index will be interesting to check tomorrow.
