There is an AUKUS thread under World Armed Forces section, which is more appropriate for the topic of Australian submarines.

Suffice to say, the idea of more Australian submarines were first floated (pardon the pun) in the 2009 Defence White Paper. I bet the authors did not imagine that the first, second-hand submarines would only be in service in the 2040s.
I did put forth the suggestion before to rearrange the acronym AUKUS into the more fitting USUKA

These pictures are not as good as those taken by the Japanese. Maybe the Japanese use better cameras?

Perhaps in the near future, China will be able to do her own regular "freedom of navigation" operations with CSGs off Alaska and Australia
As they say what is good for the goose is good for the gander! Watch out Australia and US of A. You might see an amanda of Aircaft carrier and support ships, soon sailing to your shoreline.
