The EU is spending more money on Russian fossil fuels than on financial aid to Ukraine, a report marking the third anniversary of the invasion has found.
The EU bought €21.9bn (£18.1bn) of Russian oil and gas in the third year of the war, according to estimates from the Centre for Research on Energy and Clean Air (Crea), despite the efforts under way to kick the continent’s addiction to the fuels that fund Vladimir Putin’s war chest.
The amount is one-sixth greater than the €18.7bn the EU allocated to Ukraine in financial aid in 2024, according to a tracker from the Kiel Institute for the World Economy (IfW Kiel).

it makes me angry how the USA has betrayed Ukraine, especially after 3 years of heroic resistance. Even though the ukranians have shown that they can inflict far greater economic costs on russians than the aid they receive. I genuinely feel sorry the ukranians. UN was established on the premise that no country can change borders with use of force. And now USA doesnt even support ukraine's resolution iin the UN chamber. Even though I still love the USA, this sounds like a despicable betrayal to Ukraine

It's sad for the many Ukrainians that had to die for this, but if America closely adhered to UN rules and didn't begin by threatening China, none of these events would have happened.

Russia didn't have any economic damage as it had actually added a Baltic state's worth of GDP literally every year since the war started.
Ukraine actually lost around a quarter of its territory, population, and GDP since the various conflicts with Russia started in 2014.

I love USA because of the american ideals. Also, I dream of visiting the sequoia national park. I am a believer of the "american dream" as well. Of course, I would love to have more USDs, but if wealth was the priority, I would rather prefer monaco and luxemburg over the USA.
