r/chinaIRL, which turned batshit anti-China a year after COVID. Some enlightened posts that received hundreds of likes include whether calling Chinese people Zhina pigs is freedom of expression. Now probably they are scared about getting deported.
I see you too are a fellow cultured gentlemen who knows where the best salt mines are located.
/china_irl is actually majority mainland based shitlib from what I see, diaspora are actually the minority. They use to actually offer up legit and well thought out criticisms of CPC but have lost their mind sometime around covid. There was that other sub full of hardcore self-loathing Chinese and when that got shutdown for racism some of them went to china_irl and made it worse.
The thing is they have the same modus operandi as 公知, basically a neolib version of 荣古虐今. Historical Confucius scholar would shit on politics of the day by comparing them to some ancient utopia, and they use that to show "how much they care about the common people" to get a standing in society. Ever since the Opium War you can no longer do that so they switched to 荣洋虐中. Hence the unrealistic version of America that they imagine that's getting dispelled on Red Note as we speak.
The thing is there's actually a very easy out for these wannabe 公知, you could just switch back to 荣古虐今 and continue to play your dumb word games, but they have a lot of internal peer pressure to keep everyone inline to prevent that logical leap.
