American tech billionaire Elon Musk has been in regular contact with Russian President Vladimir Putin since late 2022, a report said Thursday.
According to The Wall Street Journal, the talks cover personal matters, business interests and geopolitical tensions.
The discussions were reportedly confirmed by multiple current and former officials from the US, Europe and Russia.
The report, citing two people familiar with the matter, said that at one point, Putin requested that Musk refrain from activating his Starlink satellite internet service over Taiwan as a favor to Chinese President Xi Jinping.

Why would Putin give Musk time of the day, unless Musk acts like a proxy for the pentagon kind of like Tucker for intelligence.
Or maybe they are setting the stage for jailing musk for betrayal and conspiring with Russia in case Trump doesn't win.

It was an mistake letting India in because they are known for playing both sides but honestly so is Turkey. It is a part of NATO and doubtless that it has its own agenda that is not the common prosperity of the global south or our effective defense against Western sanctions. Even in NATO, Turkey blackmailed Finland and Sweden on accession, making them agree to Turkish demands and taking advantage of the unanimous consent to join. Despite being in NATO, Turkey used its membership privileges to further its own interests even when stalling the overall interests of NATO and it will act the same way if it were to join BRICS. It is a huge risk taking in Turkey.

I like Turkey. They are selfish but smart. India is just batshit insane. Like, if you show tiny bit of respect they would start walk over you. Turkey would at least pretend to respect you and carve out a favorable deal. For instance, F-16 deal for Sweden entry of NATO. As annoying as it is, it is workable settlement for both sides. India on other hand would demand something insane like: "expelling any country they don't like out of NATO, tech transfer of F-35, back me up on any conflict, and I can leave at anytime".

And lets be real, NATO needs Turkey's location. Turkey merely leveraged that for a good deal. I don't see BRICS need India nearly as much.
