Exactly what I was hoping for.
China rightfully appreciates US support during WWII, especially the flying tigers. But I feel we are not grateful enough to the Russians for what they did to Japan's notorious Kuandong Army.
I have a lot of respect for Mearsheimer. But his notion that the US defeated two great powers in WWII is just ridiculous. It was the Soviet Union that defeated Nazi Germany. And while no one should deny the incredible contribution of the US Navy and Marines in defeating Japan, ignoring the indispensable role of Chinese and Soviet forces is just laughable. I am so glad they will set the record straight next year. Can't wait!
Turns out Russia isn't the only one who kept the swallow tradition alive.

Yes the West is spinning the Putin-Xi meeting as a sign of weakness between the two that they have to have this alliance to counter growing Western strength in the world today despite bitchin and whining how China is helping Russian winning in Ukraine. That's what they do because in a democracy because the audience is their own citizens who have to believe their countries are doing a great job so they don't get voted out of office. On Morning Joe today that's how the were spinning the Putin-Xi meeting as showing what a great job Joe Biden is doing. They were saying that Putin and Xi are scared because they want Trump voted as President. All of what Putin and Xi are doing is to prevent Joe Biden from becoming President.
Its not just racism. Its also old fashioned greed. Research into cures for diabetes and cancers have been floating around for decades. But if any cures are found, it would severely impact the revenues of the big pharmas in the West. Insulin and chemo drugs are among the most lucrative industries. The unfortunate people who suffer from diabetes needs insulin to survive for the rest of their lives. The big pharmas don't want that gravy train to end. The unfortunate cancer patients need chemo drugs to have a chance at survival. Chemo drugs are expensive, and the big pharmas want to continue selling those chemo drugs for great profits. They hate cures, because its a one-time fix. Thus, much less profitable.
It is my big hope that China is able to do its part to change the way the pharma industry works today. Focus on helping humanity first instead of profits. The racists and greedy can hate all they like. When China really does develop the cures to diabetes and cancers, it'll be poetic justice. There will be lines of people queuing up, desperate to get them. Even the haters will have to stop and think for awhile when confronted with diabetes or cancer. Don't trust China's cure? No problem. Just go back to insulin or chemo, or whatever experimental drug your big pharma darlings are developing. Assuming you could afford them. Good luck!
