If China does not retaliate against tariff from Biden, it show China is weak and EU will follow the same tariff as US. I am surprise China is so quiet so far.
Why would you be surprised? Learn from the trade war; we did not win it by one-upping the US in a tariff shouting match. China almost never increases the temperature when the other side is raging. We always win by silent tact, sometimes with adjustments that are not public and thus invisible to the enemy. One of the best things about not being a democracy is the ability to move silently and stealthily whereas democracies must shout out their plans to the public for votes and engage in perfomative acts for public approval. It is a very Western, or rather American mistake to confuse silence with weakness.
Well, what can China do if EU follows thru with the same tariff on China as US? Doing nothing? That will invite more sanction and tariff on China.
Let them rot without Chinese EVs and without Russian gas? Ban their vehicles from sale in China? Remove their useless luxury brands from the Chinese market? Too many options. Being Westerners, I'm sure that at the slightest Chinese retaliation, they'll cry like someone just, out of nowhere and with no imaginable cause, busted into their houses in the middle of the night and killed their babies.

he either arrived late night/Early Morning on RA-96021 (RSD111) so it is not usual time. there are 5 or may be more IL-96/Tu-214 and additional Cargo planes for carrying vehicles. so this can be consider largest logistic exercise of Special flight squadron going outside Russia. and i think for safety not want to put people on same plane.
There is another plane that went to Harbin. Top speed 650mph/Avg speed of flight 580 mph.

Remember the cartoon post by zhao lijian depicting real aus war crimes by their military against civilians in Afghanistan? The one that angered the aus political elites

the only interpretation left is that chinas rise allows the global south to say no to the west.
There is a lot of copium and salt by this indian billionaire about Elon musk choosing china over India but he's right in the long run

Tesla is bound to lose share in china as the Chinese have access to better quality, cheaper domestic EV brands. He's right about the fact that he'll regret it but I'm not sure that choosing India which has an underdeveloped EV infrastructure is the right move either.

In short, Elon can remain happy by simply capturing the US market due to protectionism.
What's going on? Did the indians hope to start a new border conflagration to ingratiate themselves with the anglos after that Chabahar port deal with Iran?

What makes you think that those are really Chinese people? There are a lot of people pretending to be Chinese on the internet these days. I have met a handful of people from Hong Kong and Taiwan who love Japan but hate China, but in Taiwan they are only a miniscule percentage of the population. I can't speak for Hong Kong. I have NEVER met someone from mainland China who is like that.

The number of people pretending to be Taiwanese on the internet has also skyrocketed in recent years and I hate it.

Space chief outlines Russia-China ‘expansion’ plans

Moscow expects to ramp up the exploration of the Moon together with China including a permanent base sometime after 2036, the head of the Russian space agency Roscosmos Yury Borisov has said.

He discussed plans for a joint lunar mission in Beijing, while visiting alongside other senior Russian officials accompanying President Vladimir Putin on his state visit to China.

The projected deadline depends on a key component for a persistent presence on the Earth satellite – energy. Russia is developing a small-sized nuclear reactor that can work in low gravity, which Borosiv expects to be ready for deployment in a decade.

“Let’s finish it first, test it on Earth,” he told journalists. “The plan is for lunar expansion to commence after around 2036.”

The reactor is required to provide a stable power source for the future outpost. Moon rovers normally use solar panels to generate electricity and are forced to enter hibernation mode during the lengthy lunar nights, which last about two weeks.

In previous interviews, Borosov said the plan is to use robots to assemble the reactor on the Moon. He stated that Russia already has almost all the technology required for the project.

Putin’s visit to China is his first foreign trip after he was inaugurated for his fifth term as the president of Russia earlier this month. Chinese President Xi Jinping paid a similar visit to Moscow in March 2023 following his own election victory

How the tech war started:
"China's over 20 years behind on semiconductor technology; they'll never catch up and either have to bend the knee for sanctions relief or be sent back to the stone age. This is what total annihilation looks like!"

How it's going:
"We need our good US government support money to protect our key industries or China and their evil commie subsidies to these fields will dominate the globe. Now they can dominate the globe minus the US... so screw yoy guys; I'm going home."

Vladimir Putin heads to China for talks with Xi Jinping

It's been more than two years since the Russian and Chinese presidents used those words 'no limts' to describe the bilateral relations between them and their nations. Thursday, Russian President Vladimir Putin is set to touch down in China, his first trip abroad since since the start of his fifth presidential term last week. Leaders from Europe and the US will be watching and listening. They've already called out Beijing for supporting Moscow in its invasion of Ukraine. But is this an arrangement borne out of principles or posturing?

Personal Opinion/Thoughts:

Why does DW insist of portraying Chinese support for the war in Ukraine as something negative? IMHO, China knows full well that they will be the next target of concentrated US neocon/neolib aggression if the neocons/neolibs establishment were to triumph over Russia.
Why is the neocon/neolib US and certain US vassal states allowed to send lethal aid to the US puppet state of Ukraine but China is not allowed to send to lethal aid to Russia? What are China's red lines when it comes to US and US vassal state aggression (i.e. hybrid warfare) in Europe?

If tesla can just keep in China it pretty much mean US and EU will be a piece of cake. If you can make it in the Chinese market as an EV brand, you can make it anywhere.

India doesn't have the same cutthroat market forces.
I would put it differently. The Indian market is actually beyond cutthroat, it is practically lawless. As soon as you've achieved some notable success in the Indian market. There will be envious and greedy eyes staring at your company. Soon, the local oligarchs are gonna complain about your "unfair" advantage as a foreign company. Then the government will come after your business. Fines, confiscation, license suspension, jails, etc. The government will charge you for being "unfair", and then attempt to kneecap your business so that you could be weakened enough for the oligarchs to come and take pieces of it. Or failing that, impose hefty arbitrary fines and jail your executives. So that they steal your money, and humiliate you at the same time.

Succeeding in India is possible. But it's only a temporary triumph until some powerful people in India comes after your business. You could hide from them by maintaining mediocrity, but then what was the promise of coming to India in the first place? That was why many foreign firms decided to leave after spending decades in India. The best lesson to learn from the Indian market is: it's more trouble than it's worth.

In short, Elon can remain happy by simply capturing the US market due to protectionism.

Remember that 5 years ago, Tesla was on the verge of bankruptcy.

But the Tesla Shanghai gigafactory changed this situation.

Tesla could now produce large numbers of electric vehicles at significantly lower costs than the US factory and start making large profit margins on each car.

This transformed Tesla into a profitable company and funds Tesla expansion and development of new products.

So no, I don't think Elon Musk regrets going to Shanghai.

---

Going forward, yes, Tesla will have a lot more competition in China. But I reckon Tesla will still have something like 10% of the Chinese market.

And more importantly, Tesla Shanghai, with its lower costs, will remain the global export hub.

We can see the other foreign automakers moving in the direction of using the Chinese supply chain and the Chinese automakers are already in China.

So if you move out of China, you'll likely lose sales in the rest of the world where low cost and high quality Chinese-made vehicles compete.

Paris declared a state of emergency in the region due to the riots and ongoing conflicts following the bill that allowed the French in New Caledonia to vote on the island, and blames it on Turkey and Azerbaijan. :)
According to the news, French domestic intelligence DGSI thinks that Turkish and Azerbaijani intelligence services are behind the rebellion in New Caledonia. :)

On March 1, representatives of Y. Caledonia attended an anti-colonial conference in Ankara, at Azerbaijan's expense, and subsequently sent a letter of condemnation to President Emmanuel Macron. In fact, "according to a source", Turkish and Azerbaijani intelligence is controlled by Moscow and Beijing in order to weaken the French state. :)
Comedy.
