Reminds me of something I saw online with HCMC (Japan-building) vs. Hanoi (China-built) metro systems.
Both are/were horribly delayed, but Hanoi's line is running and HCMC is still under construction.
HCMC-people will point to the Hanoi system having a few construction accidents (including a fatality) as "Chinese-quality", but Hanoi-people will point out "at least we can ride on it".
