The divide is not just based on ethnicity but also culture and religion, and it goes deep into Indian society to all parts of the country. The north Indian, Delhi, is the hegemon left behind by the British. The rest of the country are bitter subordinates. The south Indians hate the north. Many wish to be independent from the Delhi regime.India is a threat as long as the historical Kangleipak Kingdom, now known as "northeast India", is enslaved by the regime in Delhi. IRBMs and cruise missiles with a range of just 700 km can hit Chengdu from there, and its only 1000 km to Chongqing.
Liberation of Kangleipak and the Meitei people would be reversing one of the great injustices of British imperialism, and would allow China to rightfully become an Indian Ocean power.
When the British conquered the subcontinent, they divided the people for demographical purposes, according to religion, in to three groups:
- Muslim
- Christian
- Hindu (which included everyone who is not #1 or #2)
The other religious groups revolted against the Sanatan domination inculcated by the British. The common mantra binding all these subcategories in protests was: "we are not Hindu".
One by one, Sikhism, Buddhism, and Jainism broke free of the Sanatan domination. But many other groups failed, who are still chanting the same slogans without success, now labelled as denominations of Hinduism.
India is today, essentially, a weak confederation of different religions subordinated by a single religious ruling class which perpetuates a fantastical and fictitious idea that all of India (and beyond) was a historical Hindu nation-state with "Hinduism" as it's religion. This idea is used to subdue others and for future expansionist purposes, i.e. Akhand Bharat. The term 'hindu' itself was coined by the British and has no historical relevance. Yet today, it is commonly propagated by the Sanatan as an ethno-relgious idea, even forced on to other religious groups, saying to them "you are just converted Hindus; same as us".
It's also the reason why India is home to the largest number of extremist/terrorist/separatist groups, a large chunk of which are "hindu". And also why there are routine pogroms in India against "minorities". The confederation is fragile and can fracture at any time.
