I don't know how many mechanical engineers China has. But China's global share of manufacturing value added is about 30%, while the shares of many developed countries have declined since early 2000s.

This is significant. I would be a permanent resident now if this existed in 2018.

Also, China is allowing more and more visa-free foreign travelers to visit. So the claim that Xi's China is closing off to the rest of the world is total BS.

This is easier PR than US, AUS, Japan, most of EU, etc. and about as difficult as Canada or South Korea. And South Korea isn't really all that much more attractive due to stuff like conscription and their crazy average hours, so China will be in competition with SK now.

Yes but thats in China. Oversea Chinese should adapt differently due to lack of a benevolent government protecting them. If they want our ability of innovation to benefit the foriegn country, they need to gaurantee a level of meritocracy like China. Until then, some innovative parasite is the best they are gonna get!

I think it's the opposite, being a minority you strive to improve yourself cause nobody will help you, that's meritocracy and as a Hua Qiao I can attest to that principle, you can see it all around in SEA where overseas Chinese are successful.

This Chinese Taiwanese family, in an effort to perhaps beg mercy from the anglos, went ahead and destroyed the company and pushed the debt into the Chinese state funds. That matter deserves its own justice, the issue here is the Australasian government is trying to exercise jurisdiction over Chinese state funds. Given that the anglos demonstrably only respect strength and power, it would be to the benefit of the Chinese people for such a ”Wagner” style PMC in the pacific.

More importantly, a lesson must be sent out to the Rhodesia of the pacific that they are guests who live at the pleasure of their Asian neighbours. These people only respect 'Rules Based Order' of strength, let them respect Chinese strength instead.

In fact, going back to the above theme, i see this example with the Australians as a microcosm of China's ascension in the fact of the declining Anglos. Much as China will never be left alone and allowed to develop in peace, no successful Chinese entrepreneur will be allowed to do business in peace unless the local government is influenced by Chinese forces. White Christian Russia wasn't even allowed to develop in peace so why would the Anglos behave differently to a "upstart yellow menace"?

I love his movie "Better Days" that was released in 2019. A story about bullying and love. Anyhoo, as for the 3 Body problem series on Netflix, I understand why it's been sanitized and made to cater towards western audience sensibilities which is to cast China in a bad light.

The focused on the Cultural revolution was emphasized, the showing of ecological destruction etc. are all subtle but effective in making people reinforce their already negative perceptions and belief on China. It's unfortunate, but that's done to avoid, comfort the America viewers and innoculate the produces, director (Netflix) from the inevitable attack from the loudest anti-China folks which unfortunately include a high number of Chinese ethnic groups. Like the HK losers, the Falun Gong losers, the CCP corrupt losers, criminals, Indian losers, Filipinos, Taiwanese etc....

If on the other hand the series was allowed to be shown in China and western media can make so much Xi bucks in the country, the western media company would have made the needed change to their "ARTISTIC FREEDOM."

I really don't understand why many of us get so vexed about this issue when we know already the reasons why.

Westerners and it's chihuahuas will use the scene of cultural revolution from the show as their education and expertise on all things Chinese (LOL) while the actual reality is that China is forging ahead in leaps and bounds trying to achieve its strategic goals and making them a reality one at a time. That's something that no amount of twitter ridicule can wish to erase.
