Dalian Maritime University has commissioned a new intelligent research and training ship. It's the world's first research ship capable of autonomous navigation. The ship also carries a number of UAVs and unmanned boats. In addition to training students, the ship will be used to test and develop a new generation of smart ship technologies.

China has delivered a 6600-ton rocket transport and RORO ship, which will be used by the European Space Agency to transport Ariane 6 launch vehicles. The ship can also transport vehicles and standard containers, as well as dangerous goods. It was designed by CSSC's Shanghai Ship Research and Design Institute and built by Jiangsu Dajin Heavy Industry Corporation.

Independently developed in China, the ship uses LNG clean energy as its primary power source. In the event that LNG filling conditions cannot be met, the vessel is equipped with a backup diesel power system.

This system enables the vessel to use the “dredging and driving in one” approach, facilitating “unmanned dredging” functionality under typical working conditions.

Wondering what this is for? I meant what reclamation projects in mind? must be a big one

Adora Magic City is 135,500 tons, which is substantially bigger than any Western cruise ship or ocean liner launched until Voyager of the Seas in Nov 21. 1999, which is slightly bigger. China still has a ways to go to become a regular shipbuilder for cruise ships and build the biggest cruise ships, but this is a big milestone.

China also builds contanier ships, such as the Evergreen A-class container ship, which at 230,000+ tons are among the largest ships in the world.

A few more images of the next-generation polar icebreaker and research vessel. The ship can carry 60 crew and researchers on extended research missions. It will enter service in the second half of 2024.
