The country’s Household Registration System (Hukou) system really disadvantages the true patriots (migrant workers and constructions workers/engineers who actually built China’s cities, high-speed rail, and serve in the military), whilst privileging the rich Shanghainese and Beijing liberals who see themselves as superior to their countrymen simply because they see themselves as “more western and inernationalised (国际化)”. In fact, even my white British friends are sickened by some of China’s supposedly cosmopolitan second-generation riches because the latters would drive Ferraris and talk about climate change and need for China be more more democratic on one hand, whilst spitting on and disparaging migrant workers and peasants at the same time. I am 100% for technology-oriented market economy, but the excesses of China’s supposed elites is way worse than most Western countries. They pretend to represent the best of liberalism, but they actually posses worst of both the East and the West. Reforming the Hukou system is one way to diminish the power of these arrogant and pretentious elites, whilst enhancing social mobility.

Those "ELITES" want more "western democracy" so that they can easily buy/influence the easily bought politicians and ensure they get away with their debauchery, corruption, illicit drug use, prostitution just like in the west and many Asian countries dominated by their oligarchs. F..k em.

Not really. Rural regions get affirmative actions via easier tests. Therefore these rural kids are not actually more competent than urban kids.

No, alternatives is city and rural should have equal treatments. If the kid is rich but has more merit than the rural one, he deserves to get in. If he don't, no advantage. No more no less.

This article shows you why America’s policy towards China is a mess. They simply don’t know what they want and can’t define a endgame with their competition with China. Of course what they really want is for China to limit its industrial and technological ambitions and put China’s foreign policy in the service of American interest and world order. So that the US can continue to maintain their hegemonic position in the world. But they can’t say that out loud.

The reason why they don't seek an "endgame" is because if they establish one and fail to achieve it, it's much worse for the US. The Republicans with their Christian ideology want to turn China into a Christian state meaning they're going to have to take over China by whatever means in order to achieve it meaning also the hardest of endgames. You think they're going to be nice about it? The whole reason why the West hates China is not because China is plotting evil upon the world and they're furiously angry at China for it. It's simply because China can say "No!" and they're furiously angry at China for it. What they expect from China is like what Europe, Japan, and South Korea are... blindly obedient willing to do harm to their own countries by obeying the US without question or challenge. That's what's happening right now with sanctions on Russian and bans on China. Looking like a failure is probably worst case scenario for them.

The West claims they're "de-risking" from China. The world is de-risking from the West. That's why despite how the West lies about China collapsing, the world is still gravitating towards China. When I say China is what the world sees an alternative to the West, it's not because it's being designed that way. It's naturally happening. It's the US and the West demanding the rest of the world to do what they want or else they'll punish for not complying. How you avoid the West punishing you is by finding alternatives and not giving the West total control over the world. It's a joke for the West to think the world prefers their restrictions and rules. Like Obama claimed to deter countries from joining AIIB, he charged China doesn't place restrictions and conditions on countries who want loans. Is that suppose to be bad? It's only bad for the West who only wants countries that obey them making up the world. Maybe it's like how the West thinks it's giving China, their seen enemy and competitor, good advice like telling China what it takes to be innovative. Either they're that dumb or they think everyone else is that dumb. Either way you don't trust anyone like that.

Thats why the saying goes "Scratch a liberal and a fascist bleeds", i see fascism as a return to feudalism movement. That is why they want to push everything into the private market so rich oligarch have the control to manipulate the economy and politics.

Man!! What's going on at the U.S. Senate? An intern so desperate for a promotion that he literally took the term "bent-over-backwards" to it's truest form in every sense of the word.

Bad news for him though is that he did not get the promotion, instead, he got fired from his job and facing possible criminal charges. When asked, he said he was feeling "BUM" about the whole situation.
