Its already explained by Ukranian economist who compiled the data. but how replacing one currency with another means sanctions working. unless he thinks dollar and euros buy you higher quality goods and services. The only think i saw in one of telegram channel that Japanese are preventing Geely automobiles with aisin transmission to Russia and it has some backlog in one of model. in that case if they want to buy the same automobile that it will have to come from Mideast and it will need a different financial system or just get complete Japanese auto.

The amounts are still not big. $10b dollar increase over 14 months.
In six months Russia imported 40,000 Chinese trucks. at this growth rate upto 100k Chinese truck import expected this year and this is like $10b. this just the new one they have data on it. than you add the rest of construction machinery.

This is a bargain. let Europe built similar capability chopper and see what happens. We already have debate on this one earlier in this thread when US did the longest rescue operation from Sudan. F-35 will not have same airframe life and certainly not certified this many sorties per day and i doubt it can stay outside in this Mideast and Africa weather. Aviation is very manpower intensive and difficult.

If the goal of the sanctions was just stopping Russia from using dollars then yeah the sanctions are working. If that really was the goal im deeply disappointed in western elites for being this petty and unambitious. The wanted to world to stop trading what they did was starting the process of others isolating western financial sanction tooling in their economy. So free trade can continue outside of the western systems.
