The official website of the Indian space research organization is currently showing a cartoon animated version of their lunar landing-craft descending onto the moon surface!
If I weren’t watching this with my own eyes, I would not believe it!
A cartoon animation?
This is so Kim Jeong-Un!

We like to joke about India, but they deserve this win. Congrats to the ISRO! Well done, learnt from their mistakes in previous attempts.

Congrats to India indeed.

That said, the non existence of fanfare when China soft landed on Mars at the first attempt was a stark contrast showing how the Western MSM can really control the narrative.

Yes, this is a non-ironic Jai Hind. The beat Russia and Japan to the moon. Great achievement on such a shoestring budget.

They failed in their first attempt at a soft landing on the moon a few years ago. But they learnt their lesson and succeeded at their second attempt. I would say ISRO generally has some of their best brains.

Russia messed up the joint Mars mission with China Fobos-Grunt in 2011 and messed up their Luna-25 Moon mission again. Sad to see how far Russian space program has fallen when India is now beating them. Corruption is the biggest problem for Russia.

Lack of resources too. India for all it's issues is still the 3rd biggest economy, even tho it's a big margin behind no2. Despite a lot of that going into maintaining the basics of survival in the massive country, they still have resources to throw around.

Russia is not fated to be a superpower, the role that will have best results for them is to be to China what France is to the US. And that is seemingly what Putin will pursue as well. Closer integration as a co-equal ally, specialized in providing resources and maintaining it's own sphere of influence.

This Indian moon mission is done pretty cheap. If Russia has the money to launch a Moon mission it can’t be lack of resources. If they didn’t launch a moon mission at all then you could say they lack resources.
