Cause Algeria is militarily backing the current Niger government and Nigeria's military is no match for Algeria's.

I believe Algeria is backing the new government and Algeria has a frankly ridiculously OP military compared to every other African country except Egypt.

That is why the media variant of softpower is pure bullshit. The old school version of soft power the economic one is truly effective. You buy the 1% or find mid level oligarch and elevate them to the top and they will use their influences over the masses to sell out their country. Don't forgot the catholic church is one the richest institution in the world and they convinced the people of the earth they shouldn't pay taxes...

I was arguing at the weekend on a local NZ forum that other than China not being a liberal democracy, NZ aligns with China more than the US from a socialism and free trading perspective.

As expected, I got many down votes for my comment. LOL
