Did anybody ever manage to download the audio or transcript of patchwork's interview before it got taken down?
1. Because they're fucking stupid.
2. Because they are perfectly happy commiting genocide if it supports their interests.
3. Because they don't see Chinese as human beings and wouldn't bat an eye at 400 million "bugmen" dying. In fact they think this is a good thing.

Because they are literally too stupid and self-absorbed to understand the concept that their enemies are capable of retaliation.
I don't mean to sound overly schizo but a lot of these people really do have the mindset that they, as white Americans, have a supernaturally bestowed dominion over the earth. They think that other nations and ethnic groups exist solely to have brutality inflicted upon them by American whites whenever and for whatever reason they want. They think that in this sense, they are the only things that are fully real, insofar as everyone and everything else exists only as captive minds to be tormented at will for their entertainment.
Obviously most don't literally think this, but that is nevertheless their mindset.
So of course they can't understand the concept of proportional retaliation. In their minds, it's like if a person tried to warn you that a lab rat was going to launch dozens of MIRVs at you in retaliation for having its neck broken.
It's really not worth it to dwell on these people's claims too much. They don't reflect pentagon plans anyway, which are drawn up by smart and sober minded people. Just move on.

General Mike A. Minihan, the commander of the Air Mobility Command of the USAF is the antithesis of what you have described. He's also a Pentagon guy.
I'm surprised they can think this, when in WW2 IJA had beheading contests and death marches with their troops, their own Senator John McCain died with a painful disability from being tortured by the Vietnamese military after capture and hundreds of thousands of them are either dead or crippled due to their aggression since 1945.
I believe that the reason that they're much more hesitant to go to war against Russia, other than MAD, is that they know for a fact that Russians are pretty brutal, as proven by their track record in WW2 and Afghanistan.
Many literally think that the real world is like a cartoon: there are 'good guys' and 'bad guys' and the 'good guys' always win. either the 'good guys' can just shoot their way out of a bad situation, or if they get overpowered, they can talk their way out of a bind with the 'bad guys', and then immediately stab the 'bad guys' in the back.
