Sir If I may regarding song artist the present Chinese singers tramp the Collective West big time (I used to be a big fan of western music BUT no more), you're right about the obscurity because of language. Most people are forced to only like those who their media orders them to like. Its a sad state of existence.
Chinese are free to choose among the entire media market. Chinese stars organically rise up among Bilibili casters and are chosen by the people. A very different model than the top down command media that many outside China are used to.
@emblem21 brought up a good example, Hanser. She has 4M+ followers on bilibili and is a VA for Honkai Star Rail. Was she hand picked by the corporations or media? No.
