From the NY times article linked above on the chip war:

I got to say, the level of arrogance and delusion here is absolutely insane. So what the guy is saying is that you need to "replicate all of human civilization" to match the West in chips technology? I mean, this isn't surprising considering the West consistently believes it's responsible for all human innovation in the last few thousand years, but it's still amazing to hear the hubris.

It will make their decline all the more satisfying. Pride always comes before the fall.
West = rest of the world
West = all of human civilization

Nothing unusual, carry on.

American leaders feel safe and are sure that Russia and China would never dare to touch even a farthest edge of American territories whether it be home or abroad with those hypersonic missiles or any missiles no matter how many they have. Invulnerability of NATO is still convincing.
Just as the US dares not touch Russia or China directly, Russia and China may use third parties and other elements to spark strife in the US homeland, e.g. political polarization and the ensuing mistrust, economic imbalances, drug trade.

These are only the "elements" part; if and when third parties become involved things will start getting serious. As in "beautiful sight x 20" serious.

At that point, it will be hilarious if Russia and/or China start importing small arms into Mexico to support 'freedom fighters' in the US.

Invulnerability of NATO is still convincing.
With the recent Leopard KO's and other debacles (Bradley IFV I am looking at you), the image of NATO equipment invulnerability has been shattered.

With the ongoing economic degradation through deindustrialization (gradual but accelerating process), the perception of NATO's ability to put up a fight will be shattered, especially so when the US needs to help itself first and leaves its NATO partners in economic ruins.

Gulf Arabs is realistic place to have rupee trade. India has invested in this relationship. India also not unnecessary get close to countries like Turkey and others.

India also gives scholarships to Syrians. The Minister is walking in the street.

Over the years, India has played a crucial role in the capacity building of Syrian youth through scholarship schemes and training courses under the flagship Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) program.

See this Japan PM statement. Saudi Arabia is the leader of Arab and Islamic World. countries are noticing it.

Majority of remittances India received are from the middle east, UAE in particular, so in effect those Indian workers are receiving their salary in Rupee instead of Dirham.

So win win on all side, the Indian workers can sent their remittances without a cut from the middle man, India can trade using their own currency and UAE gain new orders for its oil.

It is not just workers. I am sure Indian business employee alot of them.. Just Dubai real estate market one time i saw figure between $600b to $1T and Indian are major part of it. now other Emirates states are equally competing.
Arabs can differentiate between workers and tourists with disposable income. two major things happen recently. Saudi start a new airline with Boeing and Indians order largest number of aircraft. this will have major impact on migration flow.

I feel parts of America is a desperate place dying to be happy. I think the partial blame is that the the majority of people live in incredibly isolating suburbs with really no public space or "human" activity. Some are nicer/richer , while many are not.

During covid: "must go out to party , then visit my family the next day for lunch"
Now: "must do drugs to feel alive"

Iraqi officials did not notify their US counterparts before reaching the recent deal to barter oil for natural gas with Iran, the Associated Press reported on 16 July, in a test of Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani’s independence from Washington.

The oil-and-gas deal signed this week will send 250,000 barrels of crude oil to Iran per day in exchange for Iranian natural gas, which Iraq depends on for some 40 percent of its electricity production.
