There is no doubt that they are most probably CAD/CAE/CAM files which are driving the build of the 001A.

Their master files for the 001A is what we would have called blue prints in an earlier day...but those master files, in whatever from they have taken, are no doubt what has been created by and used by the Chinese to build this ship.
To transform blueprints into CAD drawings is a special activity.

I'm pretty sure that the Chinese have taken a lot of time during the conversion of the Varyag to Liaoning, to measure each metal plate - whether with or without blueprints. From this data, then a 3D digital model was generated.

Thus the Chinese have now better documentation for the construction of 001A as the Ukainer ever had for the construction of Kuznetsov and Varyag. And they can use this data all over their country in universitys or shipyards to study the construction or alter the plans for new aircraft carriers.

The question of whether it concerns Ukrainian or Chinese plans, is totally irrelevant. China has this construction plans and will use them to their advantage.

Regarding Hangar size: from the observation of the construction of 001A and photos from inside the Liaoning we know that all three ships (Kuznetsov, Liaoning and 001A) have an equally large hangar.

Starting in October, we can see which military operations with such a ship are possible. Then the

. I am very curious to see how the air wing is put together and, above all, how many aircraft will be there.

Mig29 naval programme is in full swing for the Mediterranean deployment

Weather they can have if ready in time is another story

The hanger space in the 001A would be optimised how much bigger we will have to see

I am wel aware of the conversion process as I have myself been in charge of projects where we outsurces companies to o just that.

So, they may have converted some of the paper drawings they got into CAD...or maybe even into 3D models suitable for CAE and FEA.

But even the CAE/CAD/CAM models they built from the get go on the 001A, they will need to print out so that as the vessel is being built those doing the fabrication can ensure that they know exactly what it is they are to do.

One still has to print it out in paper (in large sheets) to be able to bring it out onto the job site anyway for easier reading and measuring as the construction progresses.
But not to cut the steel plates. These will by cut by CNC machines. Bending I suppose ditto. You start needing prints to assemble the modules. Or do they use numerically controlled cranes to position those plates before welding?
