Did the Xinhua article explain what "self-developed" means? Did the project team designed it from scratch, or did it modify a foreign turboshaft and called it self-developed?Anyone know about this turboshaft engine. What is the intended use on helicopter civilian, military?

Did the Xinhua article explain what "self-developed" means? Did the project team designed it from scratch, or did it modify a foreign turboshaft and called it self-developed?
I must say I am a bit disappointed that they did not reveal any details higher thrust turbofans this year. At least a few hints on the WS-15 or details on the newer WS-10 variants.
Latest rumors:

- WS-15 has not been put in service yet
- WS-10IPE (backup engine for WS-15) has a thrust of 145 kN
