Did the Xinhua article explain what "self-developed" means? Did the project team designed it from scratch, or did it modify a foreign turboshaft and called it self-developed?Anyone know about this turboshaft engine. What is the intended use on helicopter civilian, military?

Come on this is not the first time China developed a turboshaft engine. They did designed WZ-9 and in production since 2009 . I understand there is an uprated version WZ-9B.
They have been working on WZ-16 since ages with help of Turbomecca . It should be in production by now
So this turboshaft look small too me it should be within China level of technology

Latest rumors:
- WS-10B did not meet its goal of 135 kN
- WS-15 has not been put in service yet
- WS-10IPE (backup engine for WS-15) has a thrust of 145 kN

WS-10B did not meet 135kN goal? I thought the goal was 132kN and it was met. Maybe they tried to surpass or reach the 134kN of the AL-31FN Series 3 and failed.
