So much for "Rule-Based International Order", America.

Thankfully more and more of the global population are moving towards the goal of a multipolar world.

Small correction... They threatened the ICC, not ICJ. ICJ is the UN body. The USA doesn't recognize ICC.
I am personally OK with ICC getting threatened. Its only function so far was issuing arrest warrants against guys in Africa who were against European interests.

And a very large chunk of India's freshwater comes from the Chinese controlled portions of the Himalayas and Tibet

View attachment 129197

Why are you calling it Chinese controlled Tibet or the Himalayas? The river as provided in your image literally flows from China into the disputed regions. The rivers don’t start in the disputed areas. That is China not Chinese Controlled Land. Do we call corn from the America as US controlled Ohio or their tech products as US controlled California?

China causing de-industrialization in EU – von der Leyen

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen intends to talk to visiting Chinese President Xi Jinping about policies that she claims pose a threat of de-industrialization in the bloc.

The Chinese leader arrived in France on Sunday as part of a six-day, three-country trip to Europe, his first since 2019. The head of the EU executive branch said she would discuss “current imbalances” in Chinese trade during talks with Xi on Monday.

”China is currently manufacturing, with massive subsidies, more than it is selling due to its own weak domestic demand. This is leading to an oversupply of Chinese subsidized goods, such as EVs (electric vehicles) and steel, that is leading to unfair trade,” she claimed.

”Europe cannot accept such market-distorting practices that could lead to de-industrialization in Europe,” von der Leyen added.

In the last several weeks, the EU authorities have launched investigations into alleged unfair Chinese practices, including restrictions on the supply of European medical devices to the Asian nation’s market and subsidies for Chinese firms producing wind turbines, electric vehicles, and trains.

Meanwhile, China has opened an anti-dumping probe into brandy imported from the EU, which particularly affects French exporters. The mutual investigations are perceived as a mounting tit-for-tat stand-off over protectionism. Von der Leyen has pushed for “de-risking” trade with China, but has not gone as far as to advocate decoupling from the economic powerhouse.

EU members have largely decoupled their economies from Russia in an attempt to penalize Moscow over the Ukraine conflict. The loss of access to cheap Russian natural gas has hit energy-intensive industries in Western Europe, forcing businesses to move manufacturing to other locations. The US was among their primary destinations, as the government offered subsidies to certain producers under the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022.

Blaming China for sawing your own legs and one arm off against the Russians.

Looks like the last 80 days of fighting, Russia better push with all they've got. Interesting that Israel also invaded Rafah today.

And what makes you think the Russians are going to agree to any truce? China has been on the same stance on negotiations and peace since the start and we have never seen anything happen in 2023. Neither have the Chinese force anything down the Russian throat since the start.

By your logic what's Putin going to discuss with Xi next week then? How to annex the rest of Ukraine then carve up the rest of Europe?

Yeah, I don't see Russia agreeing to the truce, and I'm sure China won't be offended by Russia's rejection.
Honestly, I don't envy Xi right now. He has to balance Russia and EU jockeying for China's backing. Russia is China's most important ally and China's credibility as a trustworthy partner is on the line. On the other hand, EU is a crucial market for China and has to take EU interests into account. Macron seems the most influential semi-pro-China voice in EU right now and seems like China and France signed more agreements on cooperation in aerospace, civil nuclear tech, renewable tech, AI, agriculture, and tourism. I noticed that Xi took a press conference with Macron, which is not something he usually does.

Because China controls it? It is not wholly in the territory of China nor India, therefore it's necessary to point it out. Ladakh is dejure part of Tibet but under Indian control. Himalayas also are not under a single country's control. When US troops are stationed in Taiwan, do you say US troops are stationed in China?
