In a book called 简明中国飞机手册 that’s officially published by AVIC it is mentioned that FTC-2000G could carry AESA radar. Does anyone here have a copy of that book?

Here another page from the patent and it looks IMO not like a JL-10-based design, but like something different.

Hongdu AC is responsible for the patent.

Other than the twin vertical stabilizers, the aircraft is visibly longer than the JL-10, alongside the wingtip pylons.

They might be doing concept studies for a next-gen advanced trainer. Could be hinting at preliminary works on a JL-10-successor? Though I have no way to verify that at present.

In fact I had a similar idea or it was / is a concept on the way to the navalised trainer?

Twin vertical slabs for the sake of twin vertical
slabs is usually a bad idea. Not only do you have to deal with increased drag but also have to account for vortices from LERX hitting the vertical slabs.
