The Philippines is not backing down in its anti-China rhetoric, now the national security advisor called China's new model pact for the SCS an act of desperation

Philippines accuses China of new island building efforts in the SCS. At this point, the Philippine leadership is under full control of the US, so any negotiation for some kind of detente is pointless. China needs to rush in and consolidate its positions in the SCS to crowd out the other claimants and outside meddlers.

As I said earlier, The Philippines said they were going to agree with it, is just to buy time and China rushing in to build a new base shows what everyone else is thinking that they aleady know it's a ploy.

To follow up on the important consensus between the two heads-of-state to deescalate tension in the South China Sea,  the Chinese side and the Philippine side through AFP WESCOM agreed on a “new model” for the management of the situation at Ren'ai Jiao early this year after multiple rounds of discussions. Either the “gentlemen’s agreement” or the “new model” is a confidence-building measure aimed at managing disputes, avoiding conflicts and maintaining peace, and has nothing to do with each other's sovereign positions. During the discussion the AFP WESCOM has made repeated confirmation that the “new model” has been approved by all key officials in the Philippine chain of command, including the Secretary of National Defense and the National Security Advisor.

USA doesn't care about the Philippines. They damn care about China, placing offensive (not defensive) assets there. And those offensive assets are manned by US troups. Not Philippino.
Like, there is a good Jewish saying, which goes as "if someone promises to kill you - believe them".

As a kind reminder, throughout 1942 US, lost 4 fleet carriers out of 7 they began the war with, that aside from half a year of endless defeats, and being almost thrown out of the whole region. Including Philippines, btw, which were meant to do more or less the same thing as today.

No, global dominance is not cheaper than two carriers (out of a dozen available). If you want to fight this conflict - do at least better than Japanese did back then.
Wise words. Do not assume all enemies are rational. If they went out of their way to fight you, you better assume fight is coming! Self-preservation be damned!

In a Pacific war, get ready to fight all US carriers, even if readiness and logistic only allow 4 at a time. Where is the other 8 going once first 4 is gone? At minimum you gotta sink 4 carriers 3 times, total 12.

If China somehow score a major victory like WWII Japan, sinking all 4 carriers operational, there are still 8 cariers coming, and they will learn to be more careful this time. If all 12 gone, there are subs. Get ready for the long haul.

The 25th Anniversary is coming up. President Xi will be in Serbia for the 25th anniversary of NATO attack on Chinese embassy, maybe something is also planned for Renai Jiao.
For those who might've missed the connection to the SCS, the Philippines grounded that ship on Renai Jiao a day after the US bombing of the Chinese embassy in Belgrade.

3 hours ago — A lawmaker has called out some pro-China Filipinos, asking them why they refuse to side with the government's stand.
