The United States is currently developing three new class of ships. The DD(X), CG(X), and LCS. All have stealth capabilities but different roles in the navy.
DD(X)
This is America's next Destroyer. The DD(X) now currently in the construction phase, will replace the Oliver Hazard Perry class frigates and Spruance class destroyers.
DD(X) will provide land attack support for ground forces as well as perform antiair, antisurface and undersea warfare. the Tumblehome Hull Form is a low-to-the water hull slopes inward from above the waterline reducing the hull’s exposure to waves. As a result, there is less ship-rocking motion to help reduce radar identification by other ships. teh DD(X) is armed with Tomahawk land attack missiles, Standard missiles for local air defense, Evolved Sea Sparrow missiles for airborne and seaborne attacks, Antisubmarine rockets, Two 40mm close-in gun systems for air and surface attacks
Two 155mm guns (advanced gun systems) with: 100 nautical mile range
12 rounds/minute firing capability, GPS-guided Long Range Land Attack Projectiles
CG(X)
The Next cruiser of US,The CG(X) cruiser will replace the Ticonderoga class AEGIS cruisers. The CG(X) will provide an “umbrella†of air and missile defense with longer-range missiles, protecting carrier strike groups and other vessels. It will also be able to track and engage ballistic missiles hundreds of miles inland. Currently the CG(X) is in the design phase. It will have a stealthy hull form. The CG(X) will able to launch larger, faster and longer-range missiles to counter inland air threats hundreds of miles away. These new missiles will also be able to perform other missions in littoral (near-shore) regions.
LCS
the littoral combat ship (LCS) is an entirely new Navy warship that will complement the DD(X) and CG(X) ships in the DD(X) family.Because of its smaller, more maneuverable size, the ship will operate primarily in littoral regions (shallow coastal waters). It will be capable of landing SEALS; Maritime Interdiction Operations groups; Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance teams; and AntiTerrorism/Force Protection units where they are needed. The LCS shallow-draft mono hull design will allow the vessel to achieve sprint speeds over 40 knots/46 m.p.h. and long-range trips over 3,500 miles. It will be able to operate in shallow waters giving it access to ports and littoral waters currently not available to conventional ships. The LCS will be able to launch, handle and recover helicopters and small boats, as well as unmanned air, surface and subsurface vehicles. it will also be able to deploy to overseas near-shore regions and remain on station for extended periods of time either with a battle group or through a forward-basing arrangement. It will be capable of underway replenishment.
since barrels are in a round shape, they increase RCS so all gun barrels on these ships are stored in a triangular sort of case when not used, when needed, the doors of the case open up and the gun fires, sort of how stealth fighters attack.
sorry about the length
