The Positive Thread

So maybe it's my psychology stuffs getting into my head or whatsoever, but I felt that everyone in this forum can/should get to enjoy a nice good dose of good stuffs to the mind and heart whenever they want. So in other words, whenever you want to see something positive or nice for the heart and mind, this is the beer freezer for it.

Feel free to post anything that you deem as good, positive, happy, healthy in here!
It can be a picture of your 2 month old niece, some random touching stories, healthy information, ideas for good lifestyle, your experience, whatsoever! The best part of all is, you get to share your positive and joys with others in this forum, and whenever you post, you know someone's going to smile, or you've/you're gonna make someone smile or day better because of the awesomeness you've shared! Nothing's better than sharing something you feel pleasant about with others and then others experiencing it with you or feel the same way as you!

Happy posting!

Humans, we're a funny bunch. We're quick to pit people against each other in tribes: liberal vs. conservative, poor vs. rich, old vs. young. But we often seem to overlook the fact that despite these seemingly obvious differences, we all still have the fundamental sameness.

That's what fascinated photographer Mark Laita, who decided to stand people of different backgrounds, occupations, and appearances next to each other to — in his words — "let the viewer think for themselves about how the two individuals in the photographs relate and what that means."

EXCELLENT idea, Airsuperiority!

We found out recently that our tenth grandchild would be born this fall. We are VERY excitied about that.

Especially me. I went to MD Anderson Cancer Center in early 2010 for life threatening, malignant bone cancer of the spine. I had three very, very major surgeries and easily could have died. I was down there over six months, and though disabled by it, have been home working and providing for my family ever since.

When I went down there we had just had our sixth grandchild...this means we will have added four more in the last four years. Happy days!

Congratulations Jeff! I'm very happy for you! You know they say that when you survive against the odds, you're destined for something great. Feel free if you want, to share pictures of your beautiful grandchild! Happiness in families is what we all humans live for, and I'm sure the smiles of you and your family will bring great joy to all of those around you, including us the community here!

Thank you. Those are very kind words.

This is my entire family. My wife and I are to the right, with our five kids, the four who are married with their spouses, and seven of our nine grandkids. This is a couple of years old, a couple of years after I got back from my surgeries and six month stay down in Houston.

...and you are right. For me, the priorities in life are pretty simple. God, family, country...in that order.

Looking at that picture I feel very happy for you and your family and the smiles you guys have. Happiness, hope, faith, love are the most beautiful thing we have as human beings. Hopefully in the near future I will also share some positive aspects of my life (such as my convocation in half year's time, and maybe a picture with my girlfriend) with you guys here as well.

This article is about a Chinese who was killed in Japan due to some freak accident. Despite the political tensions, many Japanese passed by to mourn the Chinese who was killed, even though they do not know him/her. Some said it's still very tragic because the person died on their soil, and they are very apologetic.

Seeing events really warm my heart, because this show compassion and sympathy knows no borders and boundaries.

I personally had the honour to meet Tamara Pearl, sister of Daniel Pearl, the Jewish American who was killed by Al-Qaida. Despite her pain, she continued to advocate for reconciliation movements with Palestinians and they had often been able to reconcile and bond despite the pains both peoples suffered.

It doesn't matter what governments and politicians are doing, because ultimately we are all humans, and it's our sympathy and compassion and our hopes to transcend conflict and reach out to one another that truly bonds us together.

Originally this part is for a picture of a falling man on 9/11. I remember seeing this picture the next day on the newspaper. I still remember I was woken up that morning by my sister saying the US is under attack. I ran out, see my dad in front of the TV. It was very scary moment. Regardless, I packed and went to my second day of my secondary education. And in school everyone was talking about it. By 10am, on the PA a school staff notified all of us of what had happened, and her voice was very grave and depressing. Although it's been 13 years since, today I still realize I couldn't get myself to put the picture on here. Still a very painful day for all of us, when we all stood still. I hope to dedicate this part to that man, for everyone who has suffered one way or another, and hope that we can always remember, no matter how much weapons we talk about, and how much politics we talk about here, ultimately the only thing we all truly really want is peace and end of suffering.
