As a Chengdu fanboy, I admit that from this angle, the SHADE looks a lot more futuristic than the J-36.

As someone also from Chengdu, I'm not entirely convinced which one looks more "futuristic", but Shenyang's new J-XD/50 does appear more agile and maneuverable.

To put it simply - The J-36 should be seen as an "air cruiser", whereas the J-XDS should be seen as an "air destroyer".

Looks-wise, Shenyang blows Chengdu out of the water and it's not even close. Which makes it a bit of a shame that we have so few pictures of the former and so many of the latter.

I am more interested to find about maneuverability of this J-50 though. Please surprise me, Shenyang

All moving wingtip and flaperon in opposite deflection can produce drag on par or above split aileron, so it may have pretty good yaw authority

Considering the aircraft looks to be 20-21 metres length, I can see it fitting two PL-17s in its main IWB, hugging the centerline.

I'd also like to add high-tier UCAVs as "air frigates" and mid-tier UCAVs as "air corvettes".
