SDF vs HPCA and why SDF is encredibly awesome.

I know I haven't posted in a while but I would like to state that SDF is my first experience with a serious military discussion forum and I have enjoyed all the time I've spent here and will continue to enjoy staying here especially considering recent events.

I would say 6 months ago I was invited by a one Stuart Slade (author of The Big One and The Salvation War) to his forums and was a very mixed experience for me.

On the one hand it was clear it was full of seasoned experience people who were either experts or veterans in their chosen professions and that as a military hobbyist-otaku it would long term had things worked out worked to better informing me on technical details.

The problem on the other hand is that they were mostly a bunch of virulent islamaphobe armchair generalissimo's who equate all forms of leftism automatically with 50's McCarthy era mentality of communism and was banned when my quaint entertainment value as being their token liberal ran out, and believe me it was far worse than it sounds when every thread at one point has some arrogant loon calling you a "spoiled brat mullet" just because I happened to be defending the UN as a institution and no one else calls him on his terrible behavior towards the newbie there's a problem.

It basically made me remember "Oh right, there are other forums out there full of sane and level headed people who have the same interests in the military and stuff... SDF of course!"

So I'm back here and here to stay, the discipline here is great.

Thank you EW for your kind words! SDF is awesome. However I cannot allow you to bash other forums. As private entities how they run their show is their business. I will let your post stand.

Thank you for the complements and your support, we truly appreciate it and will do our best to earn more of it.

When we first set out to have forum for SinoDefence, our intention was to create something special, something professional and meaningful and not just another forum where members debated who had a bigger, fatter one. When I approached SD to build a forum together, I presented DefenceTalk's model/framework and he immediately said yes. So, after couple of years of hard work, AN EXCELLENT MOD TEAM and support from members here, SDF now has a solid following and we will continue to build on that.

Our hard work can only go so far, I think we have a great member base who appreciates a great place for them to debate and that is our best asset that we have to offer to our visitors.

Please do tell your friends and do mention SDF on other websites that you participate on.
