You mean that curve thing on one of the white houses in the middle? It looks like a satellite communication antina.

It does look like a round dish on a static mount (no sign of turn table) so I agree probably satallite comms - could be civilian.

What got me into this is this thread is this post by Gooseman51 on 05/18/07

and he say he was in the airforce and locates RSR radar in the yellow square. However, the complex I have above is newer. Gooseman51 identifies the structure in the yellow square as the RSR. However there are two more masts (red and blue squares).

Part of why I want to think is is this article from two years ago:

which (in oart) says:

"... ... Sources inside the CIO told The Zimbabwean that the deal also involved the importation of upgraded Chinese copies of Soviet-era air-borne radar systems for the Air Force of Zimbabwe (AFZ) and a few ground-based radar stations ... ..."

The site for civilian comms is here:

and not far from the airbase either.

One important thing is all (at least almost all) fixed air search radar in China installed a sphere like cover to cover the antena. And as far as I know, usually China do not have radar installed on a building, because the turning of radar can tear the building apart after long time. China also often have people climb up on the radar to do some maintainance. it's much more convenient to install the radar on a low and small platform.

What I want to say is, it does not look like a Chinese radar at all. The thing in the yellow square looks much better. Your country looks very neat btw.
