PLA Wishlist for 2016

With 2015 coming to a close, I think it would be fun for us to share our personal hopes and wishes for Chinese Military developments in 2016 as it'll be interesting to see what other members are looking out for in 2016.
My own personal Wishlist (1-being the most wanted, 10-the least wanted):

10.
FC-31- while I am interested to see where this aircraft ends up, I doubt it'll be picked up by the PLAAF so my interest in the aircraft is average.

9. Y-20- this is definitely a very important aircraft for the future of China's military, but with its development pretty much finished, there isn't much surprises left, but we're all hoping production will start in 2016.

8. Type 057 - with the long production run of the Type 054A, it'll be interesting to see when this new frigate will come and when 054A's production run will end.

7.
Type 052D- It can be expected that at least 2 or 3 of these ships will be commissioned in 2016 and I definitely look forward to them which will bring the total number of 052D's in service to 5 or 6

6. J-11D- The J-11D will probably get more prototypes in 2016 and it'll be interesting to see ho many will eventually be built in the coming years.

5. J-10C- The newest J-10 variant seems to be making good progress and I hope it'll be produced on masse with WS-10s soon.

4. Divine Eagle- this interesting UAV is pretty unique and its been odd of no first flight yet but hopefully that will change soon in 2016.

3. Sharp Sword-we haven't gotten many pictures or information of this craft, but if rumors are true, an improved prototype is suppose to fly in 2016.

2. J-20-with LRIP rumored to start in 2016, it'll be nice to see J-20s coming out in batches and hopefully they will be delivered to the PLAAF for training in 2016.

1. H-X-finally, my personal number 1, the H-X bomber, this project was probably the reason I got into PLA watching and I hope we at least get some new info if not pictures of models of the plane but I have a feeling it'll be a few more years before the actual plane will fly.

These are my wishlist items for 2016, what are yours?

Sorry for the unorganized format, I was writing this thread from my iPad and once I tried to fix it on my laptop I couldn't get it in to the format I wanted, so once again sorry for the inconvenience.

...

Pretty ambitious wishlist you got!

I'm keeping mine short and I think evolutionary:

3) Breakthroughs in engines, engines, and engines. It's painful to see propulsion being the major bottleneck across the board for so many Chinese platforms for so long.

2) Advancements in railguns, lasers, and miniaturized smart munitions. These are technologies in the present/immediate future which will revolutionize warfare I believe on the scale of the introduction of gunpowder so China is not in the game if it is not competitive in these areas.

1) LHD's being built and no additional CV's. Do I need to repeat myself on this one?

Here is a list of what I expect, but not necessarily "wish for", in 2016:

1. FC-31 v2.0 (confirmed by both AVIC and speculated by insiders)

2. EW variant of J-15S (speculated by insiders)

3. Catapult-capable J-15 (lots of "big shrimp" talk regarding this one)

4. Improved variant of Sharp Sword (according to Huitong)

5. J-20 entering LRIP (speculated by insiders and implied by the photo ceremony for #2017)

6. Y-20 entering LRIP (according to insiders)

7. Long March 7

8. Long March 5

Thank You to the moderator who fixed my post. And thanks PanAsian! And your list is definitely very good as well and I agree that engines and railguns are very important developments indeed.

Agreed, I have a feeling most on your list will appear in 2016.

I think engines most important because that opens the door to a lot of other aircraft developments.
Agreed.
