They are sent to discourage protest again role of Wall street in the impoverishment of the US and the other Western countries because the bosses in Wall street command enough money to buy the political "masters". We need democracy, but we first need to accept that the countries that now call themselves democratic are politically corrupt.

the police using excess violence is extremely disturbing. if the police succeeds in frightening the protests, the country will miss the chance of correcting the mistake and will continue on the wrong path.
