Multi-Barrel Machine Guns

Okay, I have had some questions about Miniguns, Chainguns, Gattling Guns and other sorts of multi-barreled machine-guns. I have some questions about Chinese aplications, but also other world users.

-In aircraft, especialy in the U.S, the Minigun is used in Helicopters such as the UH-60 in a door-gunner role. Is this the prefered door gunner weapon in Helicopters or is there something more apropriate?

-Does China use Miniguns for it's Transport Helicopters in a similar role as the U.S? If not, what do they prefer to use if anything at all?

-How efective would a small-calliber Multi-Barrel gun be as far as being on the AA position of a APC or Tank?

-I have heard that the United States is considering removing the small-calliber Multi-Barrel Machine Guns from it's aresenal. Is this true? and if so, what would be the reasons for it's removal?

That's about it. :D Thanks for your time!

Your list is imcomplete The us also uses Electric gatling cannons in Fighter and attacker aircraft such as the A10, F15,F16,F18 and F22. but it is my under standing that the chineses mostly use single barrel wepons of larger calliber then the american 20mm for that application I do know that the chineses have a version of the Close in weapon system that uses a 30mm gatling cannon and that they also built a .22 caliber minigun ( what for god only knows )

I knew that the U.S used Multi-Barreled Cannons as part of their arsenal in fighter planes, but I was not really asking about those. Just the small-calliber rotary guns that could be put on Helicopter Transports.

.22 Calliber? Hmmm...Could it be related to experements in making a man-portable Minigun? Or maybe one with less kick?
