It's HMS Warrior's 145th birthday!

Yep, the world's first true iron-clad warship is 145 today (from date of commission)! Wish the old girl a happy birthday if you care about modern navies in any form or fashion!

Congratulations to the old girl! "Made In Britain", Built to last! If only we didn't keep sending our naval heritage to the scrap yard she wouldn't seem so lonely...

There are some good examples around still. Like HMS Nelson and the SS Great Britain. I wonder if Sampy has seen the latter since it had the big workover that got it some sort of heritage award this year.
